Is the string biodegradable?

Honestly, I am not sure and I gave the remaining cans to my nephews to play with or I would look on the can.

does the spray stain clothes?

We didn't have trouble with staining but it is hard to say for sure because approximately 80% of the cans in the box we ordered were empty. Only the blue seemed to work. Buyer beware, poor quality control and non existent customer service.
