Better than a scrunchie...
I have been trying so hard to find decorative pony tail holders for my thick hair. Most are so boring, or nice but hard to put on...or keep on. Believe it or not, I tried dinner napkin rings, yes, napkin rings. Oh my gosh, there are so many styles, colors, and they are big enough to go around my thick hair. I use pretty metal claw clips to hold it on. One above one below and change them up for different looks each day.

Open slowly
They are hard plastic and need to be opened slowly to avoid damage. You cannot sleep with these in or you will likely damage them. They do hold well, but not something I would wear for a high activity event like running or Zumba.

Doesn't crimp hair
Holds hair in ponytails and doesn't pull hair out or crimp it. Very comfortable.

Doesn't grip for long
I was expecting more from this device, but it catches hair easily and ends up slipping out after a while. I feel like it'd work better with medium length hair. Long hair is too heavy/bulky for the combs to hold onto. It's just okay for the novelty value, and more of a hassle to use rather than just your typical hair tie.

They stay in place.
They stay in place very well without a rubber band to hold them. I love the colors. It's a little tricky getting used to pulling him out without pulling your hair but it is getting easier. I do recommend these.
