Useful emergency addition
Great addition to swiss army knife if yours has a Cork screw. Handy emergency kit if you need a light

Surprisingly efficient
I have seen some reviews where people broke the rod so I was a bit doubtful, but as long as you hold it correctly it is clearly strong enough to strike. Both the helix tinder and the rods are surprisingly efficient, they do even work when wet (I’ve tried). The only downsides are that they’re a bit expensive and the tinder needs protecting (either a straw or some tubing does the trick), or it can fray in the pocket. Overall, I’m very impressed by this product.

Fire starting wonder
These items are very small and a little hard to hold and strike, but they do work very very well. Let’s face it they are either survival or novelty, but do both tasks very well.

The orange tinder doesn't take a spark !
The firesteel does work although it is a little fiddly because of the size and obviously I did follow the instructions ' and I drew the saw blade of my Swiss army knife rather than the fire steel !!! The orange wax spirals don't take a spark very easily and I would not rely on them in an emergency !!! The Sparks given off by the fire steel are adequate but you need some decent tinder and a reasonable amount of it !!! I feel like the product is overpriced for what it is and that you could fit a far larger fire steel that would last longer but if you're looking for something light that doesn't take up much space ' then the fire steel itself is functional '. I don't think the appearance is ever going to be sexy ' but a wider choice of colours might appeal '. Overall I think it's a nice idea but a little overpriced when you consider the cost of much larger more effective fire steals !!!

Strictly an emergency backup.
Arrived in perfect condition. This is strictly an emergency back-up that does what it says on the packaging. Manufacturer states tinder is good for one fire, two if divided. I would say that's about right.
