Buy a half size down from boots that you normally wear
Love the boots. Built like a tank and the color is awesome

Not what I expected
These shoes were a different color than I expected based on the photos, and there was something very uncomfortable about the texture of the leather. I’m sure it would’ve broken in time, but it didn’t feel like the same high-quality boot I have come to expect from Redwing. Quality material, but something just felt off about the item. More like it was made to look at them to wear.

Followed the guidance in the comments and purchased a half size smaller than my running shoes. They have plenty of room, I may have been able to go down a full size and still be able to keep them. There are a few small blemishes in the leather and along the top sole stitching. Nothing too noticeable, not torn or scratched, I didn't buy these as dress shoes, so it's nothing I would return them for. But be aware, saw a few others posting similar imperfections. The insole is leather over cork, so you have to wear them a bit before they are as comfy as a rubber soled work boot would be off the shelf.

Worth every cent
I been a red wing purchaser for over thirty years. They are without a doubt one of the best shoes money can buy. These blacksmith boots are awesome. Mine required minimal break in, maybe one week. Unlike onther purchaser's mine came with a minably padded insole which is nicely done. I do think the Wax shoe laces could be a few inches longer. The vibram soles are nice and make for comfortable walking and wear like iron, which was a big selling point for these shoes. I get many compliments and would never consider working in these, they are much to nice. Order a half size down and there is no reason anyone would dislike the blacksmith.

Boots great - condition from seller not so much
Boot was absolutely fantastic itself. The problem is that it was scratched to hell - almost to the point that I feel it may have been a 2nd or a return. Full disclosure, I didn’t return it because it’s a red wing boot and it’s meant to get beat to hell...eventually - not right out of the box when you pay (15 dollars) over full price msrp. When I pay full price for over 300 dollar boots from a brand with good QC, I expect them to be immaculate. I have no problem with seconds but frankly I have seen seconds in better shape. Would I buy more redwings, yes without a doubt but not from this seller. Should have been marked down to compensate for condition of boots. Really ought to be given a refund of some amount off of the purchase price.
