This is my first crockpot. It makes cooking very easy. Just set it, and forget it! It’s much bigger and much heavier than anticipated. The inner pot fits nicely into the refrigerator, and cleaning is a breeze by hand or dishwasher. The defrost feature is awesome! Set it to defrost, and the pot does the rest. Meats turn out nice and tender and chicken falls off the bone. It even comes with a meat thermometer. Programming is a little tricky until you get the hang of it. Be sure to choose a setting and hit enter after each selection. I love the fact that you can add your ingredients, adjust the temperatures, and the cooking time and that’s it. Unlike others with standard presets. It’s definitely a game changer. I recommend this crockpot and its features to everyone!

Does everything it says it does. Goes through dishwasher well. Love the prove feature to get things cooked and then keeps it warm. Does a roast well from frozen. Nice large size that is versatile (I use it for single portion meals too). Worth every penny so far. High quality latches to keep things inside. Unfortunately a large hole where the probe would be if using other modes but this is to prevent it from pressurizing with the tight seal on the lid.

My first time use this Hamilton Beach 6 QT slow cooker was to make gelatin, which is collagen peptides, for its amazing healing property. I set the slow cooker on Slow Setting for 8 hours. After 8 hours it was not quite ready. I added another 2 hours. It finally ready after 10 hours. I added the gelatin in sausage potato soup, millet porridge and seaweed soup, etc. The second time I used it to make BBQ pork on Slow Setting for 6 hours. The pork turned out to be very succulent, tender, not too sweet, but flavorful because the BBQ sauce mixed with pork gelatin. I haven’t tried the defrost function yet. This slow cooker inner pot is not too big nor too small, which fits right in the small sink and very easy to clean. The touch buttons and setting are user friendly once you read the instructions. The outer casing and the inner pot both are relatively light weight. Locked lid feature is great during cooking to lock in the flavor and avoided leaking during transport. Overall, I’m very happy with this slow cooker.
