One: Simple One-Pan Wonders: [American Measurements] Hardcover – January 10, 2023

What's not to love about Jamie Oliver's cookbook "One." It is filled with yummy one pot/pan meals that are fun, easy and great for the busy household. I recommend this cookbook to all the busy home cooks.

I must confess that in my limited free time I watch cooking shows for inspiration and shortly thereafter find myself in the kitchen trying my best to create picture worthy flavor filled meals.Last week I watched Jamie Oliver’s companion video series for this book on BritBox via Amazon. It was FANTASTIC! After one episode, I went out to the kitchen to make dinner and made my own version of one of Jamie’s one-pan pasta dishes (using a dish I cooked the chicken thighs in to then cook carrots, celery, garlic, chicken broth and later adding pasta). What I ended up with was one of my most flavor filled meal that I’ve ever made. Thank you Jamie!After that, I ordered ONE by Jamie Oliver. Tonight I’m 30+ pages in and already found 20+ meals whos’ ingredients I’ve added to my shopping list. The only cookbook that I’ve made every meal listed was The 4 Hour Chef by Tim Ferris.Now, I’m making my shopping list to make several of Jamie’s Simple One-Pan Wonders and I’m blown away by how many of the dishes I want to make. I’ve watched Jamie on TV for years and time after time he delivers but now.. clean-up time will be a lot less.Pros:- Jamie ID’s all the ingredients for each recipe.- Beautiful pictures of the end product (Start with the end in mind…)- Most one-pan meals are a short time commitment offering a HUGE reward for a small amount of time!- Ingredients can be found a most well stocked grocery stores (I’ve ordered a few items via Amazon that weren’t available locally)Cons:- The font size of the text could have been a little larger!- You may have trouble deciding which meal to make first.Summary:- This is one of my happies purchases of 2023! I highly recommend it and it’s inspired me to start an herb garden so I know I’ll have fresh herbs when inspiration strikes.- This book will inspire you!Update: 2023 01 25 Just made Jamies' Christmas Pasta (see photo) - This was wonderful (I didn't cut out the stars... next time). Thank you Jamie Oliver cleanup was a breeze!

This is my 3rd cookbook from Jamie. I enjoy his simple style and ingredients. Love that there are lots of photos.

Love Jamie's cooking book. Good recipes and easy to cook.

I enjoying meal planning and cooking new recipes every week and was interested in this book for quick, simple meals. I found these recipes easy to prepare and liked that it didn’t require a lot of ingredients or messing up many pans.The cons for this book are some of the recipes are quite bland so I had to add a little more to them. Some of the recipes call for UK ingredients that aren’t easily available in my US grocery stores. I figured out substitutes but folks that like to be exact with their recipe prep might find that frustrating.

This book is a timesaver and inspiring to anyone who spends a lot of time cooking. Oliver's recipes are fun, quick to prep for, creative, fool proof, and absolutely delicious. There's something for everyone: meat-eaters, vegetarians, vegans, pescatarians, those who avoid gluten. It drove me to the kitchen like no other book in a long time. I was sold on the book by his breezy and upbeat BBC series about these one-pan wonders. It's worth a watch and will, along with the book (and the cut-back in time you spend in the kitchen if you try it), really brighten your spirits. Love this chef and these recipes.

I like recipes where you can do the whole thing in one pan. There’s a good variety and easy to follow directions.I also like recipes with readily available ingredients.
