Almost gave it 4 stars
Expensive, but this is a really high quality and very sturdy mount with great motion. Its probably grossly over-engineered for almost any monitor, even the 49" ultrawide behemoths. This is what you want if you have a really big monitor, want to mount a decent sized TV or you just want the best money can buy. That said, there is one monitor its can't quite deal with and that's the Samsung G9 Odyssey due to its ridiculous 1000R curve putting too much strain on the tilt mechanism. You need to buy a heavy duty tilt adapter that was made specifically to work with the G9, which you can find at this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08P53X9PF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I think its ridiculous they charge an additional $65 just for it to work with a very popular monitor since its a mount that already costs $275, that's why I almost knocked off a star. The heavy duty tilt mechanism should be offered as an option. Still, I did research and don't know of any other mount which works with such a behemoth like the G9 so it still earns the full 5 stars. PRO TIP: for other prospective ultrawide owners: These things are huge and will take up most of your desk space, especially the G9 that's probably why you are looking at wall mounting it in the first place. It does work great to free up space underneath the monitor, but mounting it was more of a challenge than I thought. With a mount like the Ergotron If you want your monitor as close to the wall as possible (almost everyone would Id think) the mount position will be pretty far offset compared to the centerline of your monitor and it MUST be mounted to a stud. I strongly suggest you make sure you have a wall stud compatible with where you want the centerline of your monitor to be before you drop a lot of money on this. I am including a picture to help you visualize the offset. My problem was my desk being in the corner and I had a window in the way, so I had to offset the mount twice as wide as I previously thought I would because I didn't want to drill through my window trim. Still love it and it looks good but now I can't move my monitor to the other side of my desk. Oh well

You can never go wrong with Ergotron
As expected of the brand, Ergotron always makes the most sturdy and flexible mounts in the industry and this one is a good mount. I've been using them for over 10 years and gone through dozens of monitor mounts, but this one is easily one of my favorites. I bought 2 and they're each holding a 40" monitor with full swivel motion and 180º rotation. I'm able to switch from landscape to portrait mode in a matter of seconds. Additionally, it clears up all my desk space by having a large vertical range of motion. Even though is expensive af, but totally worth the money! PS: make sure you have a solid wall or an available 2x4 to attach this to. You'll expect to have a large amount of weight mounted in one single spot.

Expensive but worth it
I purchased this arm to mount my Samsung G9 to the wall for my sim racing rig. This is a great arm that I would recommend to anyone that has a Samsung G9 but there are a few things to note before purchasing the arm which is why I took off 1 star. The first thing is the price. This is an expensive arm to say the least and I feel that as time goes by, competitors will make something just as good as this arm for much cheaper. Unless you read reviews prior to purchasing the item, you probably wouldn't know a couple things about mounting something as heavy and curved as a 49" Samsung G9. The first thing you will need to purchase the heavy duty tilt pivot which is an extra cost. The regular pivot attachment that comes in the box isn't strong enough to hold this kind of monitor. The second thing is, if you are mounting this to anything besides a concrete wall, you will need to purchase even more attachments from ergotron just to make sure it's secure on something like sheetrock/drywall for example. This can all get very expensive as it will probably cost you over $500 for everything at the time of me posting this review. I truly feel for the substantial price this thing already costs, the package should include mounting hardware for every type of wall known to man at that point. I say this because I had the intention of mounting this arm to drywall prior to realizing I couldn't and quickly had to change my mounting location to an adjacent concrete wall just to keep the cost down. With all that aside, the mount itself is a beast. Make sure you have a friend to help you install the screen onto the arm as this will be very difficult for one person to do. The install itself literally took me about 10 minutes. Once the proper holes were drilled into the wall and I placed the mount on it, everything was a breeze. Slight adjustments were needed to the arm via the provided allen key once it was installed but nothing major. I can honestly say I have no worries of this screen falling off this wall. As you can see in my pictures, I can maneuver the screen in any direction I want and doing so is not strenuous at all. It takes minimal movement from the person moving it in different directions. If you want peace of mind knowing that you will have a solid mount for your G9, then this is the way to go. Otherwise, if you have a smaller screen, this thing will handle it like a piece of cake.

A High Quality Arm for Larger Monitors
This high quality monitor arm is made of very nice looking polished aluminum. All of the necessary hardware is included to mount the arm on a variety of wall types and is also very high quality. Some necessary tools (allen wrenches) are also supplied. All hardware is in labeled packaging. Although I think this is a very worthwhile product, you should consider these COMMENTS: -The included cable duct doesn't work very well without additional tie wraps, especially if you have LOTS of cables because it pops out of place-- or is impossible to put into place. They ship this arm with some included velcro cables that are pre-threaded into the monitor arm. While this effort is appreciated, why not just wrap the cable ties around the outside of the arm? This is what I wind up doing anyway. -I used this arm with a large (42") monitor. This monitor had a VESA 200x200 mounting pattern. To their credit, Ergotron includes hardware "wings" to make this possible (see photo), but they are not very easy to use, nor are they very sturdy. I wound up purchasing an adapter plate that made my installation MUCH cleaner, sturdy, and professional. I have used monitor mounts with wings before, but they always included a way to keep the wings from "rotating". The Ergotron wings included nothing like this, and frankly, they need to address this. By the way, the adapter plate I used was: "Mount World 1056 VESA 200 x 200 Universal Adapter for Medium Mounts (Adapter can be used for tv from 23" - 42" size)" from right here on Amazon. It was perfect for this application after I included 10mm spacers. -Ergotron could do a better job of helping you figure out where to mount this on the wall: Perhaps they could put an excel worksheet on their website that helps you figure this out by plugging certain numbers into it, or include a wizard of some kind that steps you through it, then tells you plainly: Drill the top hole here: x.xxx. Drill the bottom hole here: y.yyy. Other Thoughts: -In general, I am very happy with all of the products that I have purchased from Ergotron. I will happily buy their products again. -Although I have lots of "COMMENTS" noted above, the product is very good and worthwhile. -My opinion: The monitor mount can be rotated. I think they should put the screw into the "fixed, non-rotation" hole and require its removal, rather than require its installation. Most of us aren't going to rotate the monitor.

Solid and easy to use.
This is a solid product. I am using it to hold up an iMac Pro, so I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to fall. It is very easy to adjust and it was extremely easy to install. I installed mine in a place where it is the first thing that clients see when they enter, so I needed an arm that looks good. It is aesthetically pleasing enough to put in a visible location, but I wish the color and finishes were more consistent. The mounting plate for the monitor is black, the arm itself is gray metal, and the cable management is white. By the time I had purchased the wall track and mounting plate for the track, it cost another 25% more, but it was well worth it. This is a premium product.

Worth every penny
I got a cheaper one first, and switched over to this one next. I wasn't thrilled I had to spend more money on the different end that has a better range of motion, but when it's all said and done... The quality, and sheer strength of this one, is unmatched. This thing is a monster... I've got my 49-in ultra ultra wide monitor on it. I'm not sure it would have enough range of motion had I mounted it in a corner or something, it's not that long of a reach... But I mounted it straight on, and it has absolutely no reservations in holding a 30-lb monitor right out of the box. I didn't even have to adjust it in my case

Will need to purchase additional items to attach this unit to a stud wall
Update: After purchasing the track and the bracket separate from the arm which was not mentioned to be needed as I have explained in my original post below, the kit came without proper screws which are M6.3-2.5 x 50mm. It is only mentioned in the instructions that “fastens are owner provided”. This is the most incomplete unit that I have ever purchased. Original post: This unit assumes the attachment will be to a concrete wall. In order to attach to a stud wall, as majority of the homes in the U.S are stud and sheet rock, you will need to order a separate track and bracket which is priced at approximately $100. This is not mentioned in any of their specs online and it is only stated in the assembly instructions inside the box. Instructions are very unclear and hard to follow often jumping from page to page. When I called the company for assistance they kept mentioning that installing without purchasing the bracket will void the warranty. They were more concern in emphasizing that one fact multiple times than offering solution or help. They do offer a professional installation through a third party vendor at a cost of $299 plus tax. When calling the company, automatic system states there are installation videos available on their website which I couldn’t find. When asked about them the rep stated there are no installation videos. The unit is very sturdy but the fact that the bracket to attach to a stud is additional to the price of $340 is unfair especially since they do not clarify that prior to purchase.

Range of motion is okay, and monitors can be too light
I have a LG ultragear 34” ultra wide that weighs about 12 lbs. I have this adjusted to the least resistance so it doesn’t pop my monitor up, but yet it barely keeps it down. Fine okay. Then my next problem comes placement. It doesn’t go back far enough or low enough. So I thought I would be smart and remove the center connecting piece so I can get this thing lower (which it did - see my messy pic) but now it just can’t go back any further. Now, the screen feels too close to my eyes, so I think I’m going to return this in favor of the VIVO mount (it’s also a fraction of the cost) but I’ll see if it’ll get me closer to the wall. Plus, the weight is probably right in line with my lighter weight monitor. I bought a mount-up articulation wall mount for my 48 in tv and that sits more flush than the ergotron… it’s nice, and the adjustments are probably a lot better and it’ll stick better, but not getting it to the exactly position is no good for me.
