I really enjoyed reading this book.

Restartion Queen
Well written and researched, this provides a portrait of a Queen Consort who is generally just seen as an appendage to her husband. Sadly, there are no illustrations, or it would have been even better.

I especially liked the description of her time in Portugal just before ...
This is a well over due biography of a over looked Queen and well done to the author for writing a book about Catherine of Braganza, it makes a refreshing change from the usual play safe biographies about Queen Victoria, Elizabeth I Henrietta Maria etc. First of all when I received the book I was surprised what a short book it is but the content more than makes up for the length of the book. This is a no nonsense straight to the point book about Catherine. I especially liked the description of her time in Portugal just before her departure to England.Catherine of Braganza was naïve on her arrival in England but her strength of character and experiences in England made her a strong, brave Queen who went through a lot. In the end she ended up as regent of Portugal. I really enjoyed the book and the style in which the author portrayed Catherine. Please can we have more books about long forgotten Queens, Maybe Queen Adelaide or Mary of Modena.
