## Overview

The KitchenAid 13-cup Food Processor (KFP1333) is designed for culinary enthusiasts, featuring an adjustable slicing disc for customizable thickness, a stable base for reduced vibration, and a generous 13-cup work bowl, all backed by a 1-year warranty.

## Description

Features: KitchenAid's exclusive on-the-fly externally adjustable slicing disc allows you to adjust slicing thickness from thin to thick, without having to remove the blade assembly. With the slicing disc installed, simply slide the Slicing Thickness Control to the desired setting - no need to remove the cover or even turn off the Food Processor! Two speeds and Pulse provide precise control to give great results with most any food. One of the industry's largest, the 3-in-1 feed tube accommodates large items - like tomatoes, cucumbers, and potatoes - with a minimum of sectioning or slicing. A small hole in the bottom of the narrow pusher makes it easy to drizzle oil into ingredients - just fill with the desired amount of oil or other liquid ingredient. The heavy, slip-resistant base helps provide improved stability and reduced vibration during tough food processing jobs. Comes with Mini-Blade, 13-Cup (3.0 L) Work Bowl, Externally Adustable Slicing Disc, Reversible Shredding Disc, Drive Adapter, Disc Adapter, Slicing Adapter, Stainless Steel Multipurpose Blade, Dough Blade, Chef's Accessory Case, and Spatula/Cleaning Tool.

Review: Great Food Processor...So Far - Let me start with two facts: 1) Even though the write-up does not indicate this, this came with a dicing kit (like the 14-cup version does)--this dicing set-up is supposed to retail for an extra $179; 2) This is about $100 less expensive than the 14-cup version (which I had and which came DOA, was replaced, and then died in less than a year!), and yet all the parts of the 14-cup version fit this 13-cup machine, including the 14-cup basket, which appears to be exactly the same size(!). IF this actually lasts more than 9 months, I'll be very happy with it. The slicing option is great, and I really like the fact I can select the thickness of the slices. I love the dicing function; I use it to cut tomatoes for the salad bar I provide each month for our church's fellowship lunch--it turns an hour-long process of hand dicing 5 or 6 lbs. of tomatoes into a 10-minute process. I use firm Roma tomatoes, but as long as they're not soft, they dice beautifully. And it also works perfectly for diced potatoes, beats, onions, and anything else FIRM you want diced into 3/8" cubes. I wish the on/off buttons on this were actually buttons and not just spots on the front of the machine you're supposed to push. This (and the 14-cup version) often takes two or three tries before the machine turns on. It takes quite a stiff push to turn them on; I often use my thumb rather than a finger. I did purchase the 3-year extended warranty, and would highly recommend that to anyone purchasing a Kitchenaid Food Processor. Years ago, their reputation was different, but today, they aren't as dependable.
Review: good purchase - My wife and I were deciding on the Cuisinart FP 14 white elite 14 cup or the Kitchenaid 13 cup. I chose the Kitchenaid KFP1333 for a christmas present. Since I did not purchase both I can only say the Kitchenaid is fine and my wife loves it. The first chore was hard cheddar cheese for mac and cheese. It handled this like soft butter with no issues. Again I can only say this uint is fine and I am sure it will live up to the Kitchenaid legacy. Update 01-08-2012. Today my wife made a dish that requires sweet potatoes which is likely the hardest item she will slice in this unit. Again the KFP 1333 handled the task with ease. She loves the fact that it is light and easy to get in and out of the cabinet. She also loves the blade storage box.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this also double as a regular blender?**
A: I think that mostly it can double as a blender, although I think it will not crush ice as well as my blender would - I don't think that I want to even try! and the small bowl is also good for 1-2 cups of anything

**Q: Have only used my processor aprox dozen times since buying 2 yrs ago. I assembled components to shread cheese and it will not start. I checked and rec**
A: Mine overheated when I shredded cheese. When I called customer service, they said my cheese was cold enough and I ruined some of the parts that connected to the shredding disc. This has been the worst buy, I am so disappointed in this KA food processor.

**Q: So i got this as a gift from a friend who never used it, and it turns out it spins the wrong way! Is there a way to fix that?**
A: Same here happened to me because of electricity in my country 220 and I got it 110 v so it didn’t work wit me

**Q: i set up to slice put in cabbage nit over fill line and it won't turn. Locking place lined up, don't know what to try next.**
A: Cut the cabbage so it's not over the fill line. Make sure the lid lock is in place. Are the shaft and blade engaged? I don't know what blade you are using, but they have different shafts, so make sure you have the right one.I had three of these processors in a row, each one had a different issue and KitchenAid kept replacing them. I finally gave up and bought a Cuisinart 12 cup and am much happier. In spite of the ratings being so high, I think the quality control of the Chinese factory where these are made is very poor and KitchenAid knows it. If the machine is defective, they will stand behind it. They are planning to bring manufacture of all their products back to the US. That's when I'll start buying them again. Meanwhile, the stand mixer is still American made and a great product!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Food Processor!
*by D***K on April 21, 2012*

I bought this model to replace my old 26 year old Sunbeam Food Processor, which finally succumbed to plastic fatigue. I was looking for a large, heavy duty model as many of the newer ones seemed lightweight in comparison to my old favorite. I got exactly what I asked for. It is well built, has a nice box that holds all the attachments, and is not complicated to use. This is beefy! Even the 'pulse' setting is very powerful - almost too powerful. I like that it has fewer parts to wash, but washing it is still the tricky part. There are places where food gets stuck and they give you a special scraper to reach them. Water seems to stay in the top section after washing it as there is no good way for it to dry out. That's the reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5. Anyway, I've used it for slicing many vegetables and also sausages with great results. I've used it effectively for pastry crusts as well. Lastly, I used the included smaller bowl and small blade to make hummus, which resulted in a good texture. I recommend this product!
