I am using this case for the external Blu-Ray/DVD player that I purchased for use at my church. Since the MacBook Pro comes with no internal DVD drive, and sometimes we want to have a movie night (using physical discs), or sometimes we need to play a CD-Rom, or DVDs for VBS, we definitely needed an external drive. However, we don’t typically need to use the drive for the average church service. I needed something to store the dvd drive in when we aren’t using it. I also wanted to be able to put it in a case for easy transportation, since we are moving the laptop around the building. We will be hosting VBS at our church this year, and it’s great to have this case. Our laptop bag is not very big, so having a handle on the case allows for easier transportation, since I can carry the case on my wrist. The case seems to be very sturdy. When it arrived there was a “new case” odor to it. I allowed the case to air out for a couple days, and that odor was gone. I use it to hold a LG Blu-Ray player, and it is the perfect size for it. I like that there is a place to store the cord for the player as well. I am very pleased with this case. Amazon is the only place I could find external DVD cases.

This is a very nice case. Fit my external blue ray recorder just perfect. Gave it better protection than the old cardboard box it had been stored in. I would purchase this again if I would ever need another one.

Great Case. Sturdy Good size for DVD Plyer

Bought this to protect my new Lenovo external DVD drive and was a little apprehensive because I could not find a Lenovo case and worried about the form and fit. It fit perfectly — nice and snug, with no side space for it to rattle around. Nice padded recess for it to fit into, and a permanent wide elastic band to hold it even more firmly in place. The other side of this clamshell hard case has a zippered, netted compartment perfect for cables and my small DVD manual. Exactly the right item for me, and on my doorstep a day or two after I ordered it with Amazon Prime.

Works GREAT!! Withstood minor bumps and shaking of my motorcycle while being used driving down both local and highway streets.

This is a well made, attractive case. And if your external CD/DVD drive actually fits snugly in it, congratulations, you made a perfect choice. I own a Pioneer BDR-XD08B. And as you can see in the photo, the drive is much smaller than the compartment inside this case. In fact, I wouldn't be able to use this case with this drive without cushions/spacers of some sort. The disc player flops around too much in ALL directions without added support. I have taken apart some of the padding from the box the drive came in and am using it until I can come up with a better idea. I wish the manufacturer would provide something suitable in black so the spacers wouldn't stand out like a sore thumb. It sure would expand the number of drives their case could securely protect. I'm not happy with the solution I'm currently employing, but it was that or return the case. And there are a number of things about this case to like.

Perfect fit for my Cocopa external CD drive, it's not at all cheap or flimsy and the red trim on the zippers matches my drive (not really a selling point but I like it) Most of the cases I could find were just soft covers with zippers and not a hard shell on the outside. I was worried that the dimensions would be off, the CD drive height is 1.0 inches and this case says it is .9 inches but it fits great with room to add anything in the zippered pocket. It appears really sturdy and will likely protect my device if dropped—but ONLY if it’s completely zipped closed. I would have liked to have had (1) BOTH an additional elastic strap holding the device and (2) the strap that’s currently there (and any additional ones), to be much, much tighter. Because the elastic is not very tight, if the case is open and it falls, your device is pretty much guaranteed to fall out and hit a hard surface.
