great book for travel or campout lovers
I bought this book for my older brother for Christmas and seemed taken to it. He travels often and seems to enjoy staying at campgrounds, so I assumed this book would be right for him. It has great pictures and looks fun to read.

Great purchase!!!
This book was exactly what we needed for our cross country camping trip! It gave us great tips, and insight on different camping trails we would not have known about. Reasonably priced for book lovers.

Trip to the Redwoods
I bought this book because I am going to travel 2000 miles by camper to Redwoods National Forest. I wanted to checkout places to see and camping spots along the way, so far the book has been helpful.

Not what I thought it would be
This is a beautiful book that is high quality, and has really gorgeous photos. However, I was looking for a comprehensive camping guide. This book is very selective and only has a limited list of campgrounds per state. Worst yet, there is no map that shows the rough position of the campground on a state map. For me, this make the book fairly useless.

Beautiful book
I am planning to travel across the country, so it gives some great ideas but only a handful per state. I would have liked more. The pictures are beautiful. The book is heavy, so it isn’t super portable.

Too few entries for states I'm interested in
I usually like these National Geographic books but this was a bit of a disappointment. The problem I have with it is the low number of campgrounds listed for the areas I am interested in. For example, I live in Georgia and there were only 10 campgrounds listed for Georgia. There are probably well over a 100 campgrounds in Georgia and I can name dozens. I noticed the other states I am familiar with have a similarly limited number of campgrounds listed. I guess since there are 50 states and if the book lists 10 campgrounds for each state that would be 500 campgrounds. If I thought of this I wouldn't have purchased the book. The entries that were listed in the book for the campgrounds had typical information you could find easily on line or elsewhere. I just didn't find this book of much value. In addition to the above, the book arrived damaged. That happens sometime and the rating of this review doesn't consider that it was damaged. The review is solely based on the above statements.
