I received this very attractive looking stool today and assembled it right away.As an ex-carpenter/cabinetmaker, I must say I am completely in awe of the quality of this product.The design and machining of the pieces is flawless, the construction sturdy, and assembly straightforward (but READ the instructions!)As I assembled the bench I was up-close and personal with each component, and just kept sighing to myself with satisfaction.Items on Amazon can have greatly varying levels of quality. Too many people have the misguided prejudice that if something comes from China it is of low or mediocre quality. Nothing could be further from the truth!All levels of quality, from very economical, functional items to the best of the best arrive to our shores from China.This item is absolutely top quality, and at its price an exceptional value for the money.It is sad to look in the crystal ball and wonder how many great items like this will become impossible to get in the United States because of ignorant xenophobic protectionism that restrains trade.If you are considering a well made wooden stool, for the shower or anywhere else in your house, BUY THIS while you still can!!!Assembly note: earlier I advised to actually read the instructions when putting this together. It is simple to assemble, but it is imperative that you note a few important things: There are four legs- two each of "C" and "D" (these are carefully labeled with stickers.) Note the Diagram and where the two styles of legs get positioned at the initial end of the stool. It *is* important that you comply with the diagram. (if you take a peek at the receiving groove in the leg that supports the middle shelf, you will see that on one edge it is squarish, and the other rounded. THAT is what makes the difference between style C & style D. One you loosely fasten the first two legs using the sturdy machine screws, note that the two C legs are diagonally opposite each other and the two D legs are diagonally opposite each other.Start by getting everything properly in place before progressive tightening the machine screws working around the inverted stool (much as you progressively tighten the lug nuts on a car wheel)When you are done you will see what I mean about the high quality of this item!Enjoy!

Great small bench for a shower. You can sit on it and it will hold an adult. The color is black.

I did a shower to tub conversion with white subway tile and matte black fixtures. I only installed one small shelf and wanted a bench to hold bigger items and to shave my legs. This was the perfect addition. It brings a sense of luxury to an already beautiful new shower. It was a little tricky putting together as the identifying stickers were put on the wrong legs, but once I figured that out, it was relatively simple to put together.

Purchased this to go by the tub. Nice size.The only reason I gave it four stars was difficulty assembling and getting gap to close where legs meet the seat. I am very happy with it otherwise. The side I was able to tighten enough is facing out.

This sits really well in the shower and can also be used anywhere else in the bath room.

I don't think this is waterproof. I bought the black one and it's nearly all chipped off down the drain. Also, the screws on the bottom of the legs rusted and were ruining my shower tiles. I had to fill them in with silicone. Would not recommend.

I love how this looks. Very pretty. I’ve had for almost a year now and the wood is split and paint is chipping. I wash it regularly but it’s starting to look dingy. I don’t see it lasting more than 2 years.

Works great! A little tricky putting it together..the legs will only go on one way.
