Original CVT fluid for Subaru products. This is specifically made for the TR580 CVT transmission. If you are wondering which transmission you have in your Subaru, open the PASSENGER door and look at the bottom of the door frame and you'll see a Spec sticker which contains the color of the paint, transmission model, and etc. If you have a 4 cylinder engine, then most likely your Subaru transmission is a TR580. If the sticker indicates your car has a TR690 transmission, THIS FLUID IS NOT FOR YOUR CAR.When I change the fluid, it normally will take a bit more than 4 quarts to replace what drained out. There are several YouTube videos on how to do it.

I had did a drain and refill of my 2015 Sabaru Forester transmission at 60,000 mi.Noticed a low speed accelerating shutter at 85,000mi.I purchased two of these 6 quart packages and did a drain and a couple 4 qt flush out of the transmission cooler Return line.Refilling the transmission after each flush.Installed overall 11-1/2 quarts of new fluid .Shutter seems to be gone now.

while in theory you can use other CVT fluids, all the Subaru references I consulted say to use the Subaru branded fluid. This is the real stuff and it's what you want for your Subaru CVT.
