Great for children
I purchased one of these for each of my children and they arrived today. I can't speak of the durability since I just got them, but they seem very well made. My 8 year old was able to launch his kite on his own by running into the wind while letting out slack. He flew it for over a half an hour and then brought it down on his own. He was constantly adjusting his kite for the wind, letting out and reeling in line to keep the kite in the air and he had a great time. My 6 year old needed more help, but she will get the hang of it eventually. The colors are vibrant and the tails match the kites well and make a fun vibrating noise in the sky. I found that the kite shape helped with nice soft floaty landings when we brought the kites down.I purchased 30# 500' nylon line Stake Line Winders on amazon to go with the kites. I think these easier-to-use winders really improve the experience of the kite. The extra 300' is nice to have too if you really want to get the kite up in the sky. The kite comes with a very small winder and line that fits in its carrying case if just need something really compact. I find the included winder difficult to prevent tangles, or let out line quickly, but it is better than nothing.

Cool kite, well made, easy to fly, but be careful assembling and disassembling...
I purchased this kite for my girlfriend along with their 1.4m foil kite for myself. They both come in their own carrying case/bag and are easy enough to assemble and fly. This single line kite with a generous tail launched easily and was stable and predictable in a steady wind. The assembly and disassembly require you to flex the material and the structural cross pieces almost to the point of breaking. No problem if you are careful, and perhaps I haven't found the best technique yet; but a small amount of engineering might remedy this small complaint in future models. :) This is an easy to fly well made single line kite. I however much preferred the steerable airfoil and am already ordering a larger one. Fairwinds!

Purple Haze Prism Stowaway Diamond Review
I purchased the Purple Haze color of the Prism Stowaway Diamond Kite for use at home where we have open fields and for on vacations when my niece visits. It is both fun for kids and a stress reliever/ relaxing activity for adults. The kite comes packed as a portable sized kit in a travel bag with snap that has instructions printed on the backside. It has a loop on top that you can use for hanging to store the kite bag when not in use. I did take pictures when unpacking the kite and found them useful later on for reference on how to best repack the kite compactly to fit in the bag. One criticism I have is the bag is snug for repacking the kit and provided string/line. I would also suggest using something more rigid like a mailing tube or box for travel to protect the kite pole bars from breakage or crushing. At first, set-up/ take-down was not fast or easy. The poles were very stiff and I was afraid I would snap them trying to fit them together or puncture through the kite fabric. I can understand the negative reviews who said this was the reason they sent it back. I did find that this improved upon usage.Kite is very durable and this is the reason behind the price. Compared to cheaper kites of the same style– dollar store kites and kites ranging from $3-10 from the big box store – the Prism Diamond survived multiple nose and wingtip divebombs into hard ground with rough grass/ short hay field. The color of the Purple Haze model is deep and vibrant. The Purple Haze color and pattern stood out both on a bright sunny blue sky and on dull gray skies better than many of the washed out cheaper kites. Additionally, the abstract pattern was “cool” for older kids/ adults whereas the selection at stores was limited only for the Easter holiday and mostly toddler cartoonish designs or movie characters. Most of the cheap kites could not be disassembled. If the weather changed, I liked the convenience the Prism Stowaway offered by packing it back up until another day.Flying: The Prism Diamond LOVES to fly on its own! If it found a breeze and was on the ground it would attempt takeoff! Just make sure the string is not tangled. Although not a stunt kite, it looks beautiful doing sweeping figure eights or just flying with its tail. For adults looking for stress relaxation its an outside version of the adult coloring book zen feeling. Kids will love it too because it does have some pull tension on it that makes it feel like you are "driving" the kite.Pictures of overall case height, bag contents, backside of bag with instructions, Overall, I would recommend this kite or a Prism stunt kite if you want more of a challenge since the durability makes the price worth it.

Great kite for kids
As a pre teen, we would always get the balsa wood and paper kites. We would put them together, tie some old rags together for a tail, tie ir to some fishing line, and try to fly the thing. It was fruitless and I never got a kite to fly. Now, at age 47, I wanted to get something off my bucket list, so I found the Prism Stowaway Diamond Kite on Amazon. The kite arrived very quickly. It happened to arrive on a breezy day in March, so I put it together right away. I had purchased a stonger/longer string as well. It took about 20 seconds to put the kite together and let it fly. It launched on the first try. As soon as it was above the rooftops of the nearby houses, it caught the wind and took off. I was able to control it very easily above the treeline. It is so easy to operate, a 12 year old kid could fly it. The hard plastic is easy to put together and automaticly steches the fabric. The only mistake would be to pinch the fabric in the hard plastic sticks which could puncture the fabric. I have flown the kite for about a half hour on every day the weather has been nice since. Only once have I lost the wind causing the flight to nosedive. I have enjoyed this kite very much and it is highly recommended.

Design works great but materials not made to last
Kite went together easily. Flew beautifully, but when I was breaking it down I noticed one of the rods was split. We got 1 flight out of it. Not very happy with that but as a whole kite worked very well. Only 3 stars.
