Is it too loud? Can volume be adjusted?** A: WAY TOO LOUD UNLESS YOU'RE VERY HEARING IMPAIRED! No adjustment. Less than a year ago, there were still versions of these button clocks selling on Amazon with a volume control wheel. Those were absolutely perfect but I broke mine! Now you can only get ones with Hi-Low buttons on them, but even the Low setting is WAY TOO LOUD! The product descriptions on those clocks still say they have a wheel, but if you look at the product photos, you'll see they only have a Hi-Low switch, which is worthless. These products used to be wonderful for checking the time in middle of night without waking all the way up. Not any more. **Q: does it give the day of the week along with the date** A: Yes, it does. It would say "The date is June 22, Thursday" **Q: Does the announcement state am/pm or can it say day/night?** A: yes, it does state PM/AM.
