I might be a doctor
He’s handy but tends to need first aid a bit. After a run in with a band saw & many bandaids later he was left with a pretty nasty scar. These strips have helped a lot. Unfortunately there is no fix for being so hard headed that refusing to get in the damn jeepto go get stitches will help.

Doesn't stay on your face
I believe this product could work but it didn't work for me due to it coming off my face to easily. I don't have an oily face and it's not dry, I'd say my skin is normal. I put this on my clean face and had no lotion or anything on but it wouldn't stay in place. It kept rolling up and just falling off. It stayed on my leg just fine where I had an old wound but if you're trying to use it on your face you can forget it. Atleast that was my experience.

Possible Adverse Effects or Unintended Consequences
Definitely read all instructions and test for a shorter time period, like maybe 6-12 hours when first using. I used this for quite a long time (12+ hours) on a fully healed but still new scar from a dermatological excision. The mark was less than .5". I cut the tape in half and went for it. It adhered well and didn't cause any discomfort but as I peaked at it, it seemed to keep getting darker colored. And then I washed and wore it for another day. And THEN...horror of horrors but my scar turned purple black and was getting raised. I immediately removed the tape and within a few days it went back to its dull maroonish color. I'm no expert, but I feel like that was definitely not a good reaction to the tape and I will definitely not be using this again.

Good Product
I had surgery on my forehead to remove a spot of skin cancer, and ended up with a 4 inch scar. My dermatologist recommend silicone gel and silicone pads to help reduce the appearance of the scar. I bought these pads because I wanted something with a little cushion to protect the area from wearing hats. These feel similar to those under eye patches you wear for a spa treatment. They are a bit “rubbery” feeling, and they just the right amount of cushion. They stay in place well, and they blend in with my Irish skin tone pretty well. They are “reusable” to an extent, but I find they don’t stick very well after the 2nd use. I do wash them with mild soap and air dry, but they aren’t the same after 2 uses. I use gel silicone first, then apply tinted mineral sunscreen. After 10 minutes of drying, I apply the silicone pad, and it sticks well. I also use at night while sleeping and it doesn’t fall off. I do trim these to fit the size of the scar.As to whether or not it reduces the scar, time will tell, but at the very least, it provides a good alternative to keeping the scar discreetly covered besides a bandaid.Update: I started using these overnight and using them directly after washing my face. I find that these pads work better than the gel. The pads have had a bigger impact on flattening the scar and removing the redness. I use the Kroger SPF 100 sheer touch sunscreen in the day, wash my face at night, apply face cream, and after about 10 min I apply the silicone pad. They’ve been helping a lot.
