Good speed if you need the extra ports.
Could be a little sturdier and have a bit longer cord. Speed is great.

Power pass-through worked, USB not so much (correction: USB works too!)
On a new Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon (6g) the power seemed to work fine (white light on the laptop). The USB ports on the hub however did not work at all. I tried several different devices which all otherwise work (typing on the USB keyboard now, plugged in through an older hub). Returned.Correction: while diagnosing a completely unrelated issue with my new laptop, I had apparently disabled the USB functionality through the particular USB-C connector I was using for this device. (The BIOS setting was not obviously something that would completely disable USB.) I happened across it the other day, re-enabled it, and of course everything works fine now. This isn't the fanciest hub of its type, but it's fine and it does (so far) supply enough power to my Thinkpad X1C6 to keep it happy.

Flexible usage
Mostly I wanted a powered version because I occassionally use 2 external SSDs & an external BluRay on my 2017 MacBook Air. I don't know if it's necessary to have a powered hub to do that but it doesn't hurt. Also I can use it on power to charge phones without plugging it into the computer. It can be used plugged into the computer & used without power. Very happy with it.The only knock I have is that the power cord from the adapter is only 4 feet long. May not be an issue depending on where you set up your laptop but it's rather confining for where I normally place my laptop.
