Solarcon MAG-518 Black 5" Magnet Mount CB Antenna Base with Coax Cable

This magnet mount has been perfect for me. My time spent on the highway is minimal but it holds strong for our beach trips, which includes 60 miles each way of off road driving, getting tossed all over the place in the soft sand.My only negative about it is that I should have cleaned the area of the roof I attached it to first as there was some sand or dirt under the magnet and it scratched my paint the first time I used it. Since then I make sure the area I attach it is clean and I haven't had a problem again!

Good magnet mount, but be wary, do not use on an antenna over about two feet, and/or over about 55 miles per hour, as the antenna has a high chance of self removal. On a short thin antenna it will work very well.

Will not hold the 3 foot Firestick with heavy duty spring at 70 mph. Pulled loose three times this morning at not over 70mph, the legal limit here. Will try a 2 foot antenna. If that doesn't work, it's back to the drawing board, as I cannot mount a permanent antenna on the Prius--the wife won't allow it.

Met my expectations.

This is a great mount for the price - heck for "name brand" price as it seems to perform in every way as well as the name brands I've tried anyway.

Works exactly as it should. The magnet seems powerful and hasn't moved at all since being installed on the vehicle.

ok. I have bought two of these and about to buy a third. They last about 1 season and rot out at the solder joints under the threads. probably some silicone or something will keep the weather out.
