better than book 1
I almost didnβt bother with the series after my disappointment with book 1, but I went ahead and gave book 2 a read. Better character development and felt less rushed than book 1. Exciting story with multiple plot lines. Still disappointed that everything is so predictable, but for a quick read it was worthwhile.

Go Irish!!
I love this 2nd in the series, there is a conclusion of Jessie & Chase Logan's story with their adopted daughter Sarah and now Shane their son. It was a happy ending. Now Thomas Donovan returns to Logan Meadows after 8 years in prison for cattle rustling (he was falsely accused). Hannah & he were friends (she loved him since childhood) then he left without a word. Now he is back to start his life over but his parents & brother died while he as in prison (he never was told). Sheriff has a soft spot for him and helps him find a job and a place to stay. Mrs Hollyhock has followed Jessie & Chase and has the Red Rooster Inn; he does odd jobs for her for a place to live. Hannah was married to his arch enemy's brother but he died so she is a widow running their restaurant; she has a son 5 yrs old; her mother never liked Thom because of his Irish heritage and his temper. Now he is back a changed man- more in control and more handsome than ever. But he knows until he can clear his name he can't return the love he feels for Hannah so he fights his feelings and she can't understand. Her mother is trying to set her up with Caleb's mean, hateful brother. Also someone is rustling cattle from Chase's ranch and others so Thom is a suspect. Lots of strong feelings between Hannah and Thom as well as intrigue. No one can find how the cattle are being taken. Gabe & Jake are also part of the story since they now work for Chase & Jessie. There is also the start of Brenna Lane's story since she is friends with Hannah and Jessie. She has her children as well as others she has adopted like the little blind girl. Diamondgirl

A SECOND CHANCE at LOVE
This is the second in the Prairie Hearts series. In this book, we see Chase and Jessie Logan from the first book, and we also meet more of the townspeople. This romance focuses on Hannah and Thom.Thom grew up next door to Hannah. She and his sister had been best friends, and he'd had a crush on her from an early age. What he didn't know was that she felt the same way about him.Life has a way of turning your plants upside-down though, and by the time Hannah and Thom meet again, Hannah is a widow with a young child and Thom has just been released from prison for a crime he didn't commit. Many of the townspeople believe otherwise, though. Is it worth trying to convince them of his innocence? Is it worth trying to pursue a relationship with Hannah? Thom's not sure. He thinks there might be too much at stake and he may never settle down anywhere, no matter how much he'd like to.But just as much as life has a way of turning your plans upside-down, life also has a way of bringing the impossible to pass, and seeing how this all came together was amazing. I finished this book in tears. A wonderful addition to the series, and I'm glad we were able to continue the story of Jessie and Chase, too.

A wonderful Book
Another great book in this series.I blundered and cried.I rejoiced, I got mad, I wanted to string the hustlers up.Keep up the great writing Caroline Fyffe! The only thing I found that I would mention is, be sure to stay in the era where the story is set. There were a few comments that were very modern and did not seem from the years of the setting. And I believe tonsilectomes were not performed until around the 1920's.Otherwise, great book, great writer!

Enjoyable
Thomas Donovan has returned home after eight years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Life is not going to be easy as he is shunned by some, not trusted by others, only a few standing by him. One of those is Hannah, who has loved Thomas since she was a young girl. However, Thomas has a reason why he cannot let Hannah get close.I enjoyed the story, although it was slow in parts. The main characters from the first book appeared in the story too which was a nice continuation.
