I followed the instructions by a person who posted using 2 scoops as opposed to 1 scoop. The scoops are vey small. I added the dish soap and applied it in the evening. I have a large grass area that has the dreaded purple sedge. A lot of the sedge killer sold at big box stores only kill the yellow sedge not the purple sedge. It does take a few weeks to kill the sedge so you must have patience. I recently applied a second application after about 7 weeks as new sedge leaves were growing in areas I missed. This stuff works.

Seems to work on all sedges. Slow to work due to it kills from the bottom up. Meaning it kills into the roots where all the nodes are

I had been using only one time in a planter bed and so far the product is working. I hope I control in nutsedge invasion and can plant again my bulbs. I removed all the ornamental bulbs because the product will kill them too.I don’t give the 5 starts to the product, because the instructions are in a very small letters and a lot of safety information, but not about the mixing proportions. I had to come back to the Amazon app to find that information.

This stuff works. It completely killed my nutgrass. I applied to empty flower bed infested with nut grass. Now it takes a while to kill but only did one application.First 6 days not much happened then tops started yellowing and continued for 3 weeks till nothing left. No sign of nutgrass coming back, it killed the roots.

Husband got some of this to fight yellow nutsedge. This absolutely NUKES it...His words:Cut your grass so it's all level without rain scheduled for the next 3 days.This gives the weeds time to grow and stand out - they self-identify this way so the nutsedge shoots up, stands out.Target: Acquired.Follow the directions - takes 1 little bitty spoonful per gallon of water. I put the pellets of Empero in a water bottle, fill with water, shake shake shake. Now you have concentrated liquid to put in your sprayer and all the pellets are fully dissolved.Then pour in your concentrate, fill your sprayer accordingly.Spray the nutsedge or kyllinga and wait. Your patience will be rewarded.Spray it again the next day too.And again the next day.By about day 5-7, all of your nutsedge and kyllinga will be turning brown and yellow and dying.This process allows the plant to take the poison down into the rhizomes. Nutsedge in particular has tubers almost like mini-potatoes, so you need to get the poison down there if you really want to kill it. Otherwise you risk whack-a-mole and it'll keep popping up.Getting rid of these grassy weeds is a process, it's a journey, and it's not hard to win this way.

I have Nutsedge growing in my flower beds so I purchased Atticus Empero Nutsedge Killer based on internet reviews. It has the same ingredients as Sledgehammer but it's cheaper. It comes with a very small spoon that provides the correct amount to add to a 1-gallon sprayer. I used a 1/2 of spoonful along with a surfactant (so it will stick to the Nutsedge blades) into a hand spray bottle filled with water. I then sprayed the Nutsedge blades.It takes a couple of weeks for the Empero to kill the Nutsedge but it did a fantastic job of killing it all the way to the bulb (Nut) which prevents it from coming back. (Note: Do not mix more than you need because Atticus Nutsedge Killer has a 7-day life which weakens over time while sitting in a sprayer.) I highly recommend Atticus Empero Nutsedge Killer for killing Nutsedge.

Seems to work as advertised. It may take a few applications but the horsetail grass I sprayed is dying.
