Good GM part. I'm actually just writing this review to say that this can be easily made to fit the earlier pre 2003 246 transfer cases. The correct early style plate was discontinued. This plate is identical to the pre 2003 version except for one side. They changed the shape to match an update to the case. It's just a cosmetic adjustment to get this to fit the older cases. Use the old part as a template (line up the holes) mark with a marker and cut it with a pair of wire snips. Once it's roughed out sand it smooth on a belt sander or with a rotary tool (this is optional if you don't care about how the finished edge looks). See the photos for details.

My application is a 2002 Chevy Avalanche with the 2 speed automatic transfer case. My GM parts guy said the correct part is discontinued and this one is not the same. He was right, this part has a different shape on the outside in one area, but that does not matter at all and it still fits, the hole pattern is all correct. In the photo I am holding the old one on top the new one with the holes lined up, and you can see the little extra shape coming out on one side. If you were fussy you could trim that excess shape off with snips lol, but don't worry, it still fits just like it is out of the package.
