I bought this charger to replace the OEM charger with my trusty Philips HQ840. I lost the original charger, and none of the extra, miscellaneous chargers that I've somehow acquired throughout the years worked with my trimmer. I decided to replace the charger since the trimmer was still in great shape and I didn't really need to spend $40 USD on an entirely new model, tempting as it was.For less than $10 USD delivered, this 8 volt charger is a direct replacement for the OEM one that I lost. This charger is indistinguishable from the original, and this company could very well be the same one that made the OEM unit for my Philips branded device. I've had this plugged into my trimmer and charging for over an hour now, and neither the trimmer nor the charger are getting hotter than normal. There's no weird smells or sounds, the trimmer is taking a charge and is back alive and dutifully trimming away after months of dormancy due to my scatterbrained ways.If you're in need of an 8 volt charger and the manufacturer lists this unit as acceptable, you really don't need to hesitate to pull the trigger and just buy this one. It appears to be well built, well wired and insulated, and it just plain works as it should. You won't find a better solution for cheaper or quicker delivery.
