Only Poly worth buying
I purchased Rust-oleum Poly from Home Depot or Lowe's once and loved it. Now they don't carry it anymore so I am thrilled to find it on Amazon. It is a bit more expensive then the Minwax you find in box stores, but I can't say enough about this poly. My husband and I build our own furniture so we spend a lot of time applying finished. This goes on just like paint and self-levels unlike Minwax which is sticky to apply so you often end up with brush strokes showing and bubbles in the finish. Next, where the first coat (and then subsequent coats) of Minwax take about 4-6 hours to fully dry, this takes about an hour. Since I almost always do 3 coats, this cuts project time down significantly. Since this is so thick, you probably only need one coat, but I like to add a few since our furniture gets well-loved. Also, this is one of the few matte finishes out there. I love that it has enough shine (although that's not the right word) to bring out the wood, but it isn't glaring or reflective. Even Minwax's satin is really too shiny unless you want to have that glossy look, which I am not super fond of in reclaimed wood. This is really the only poly I will ever buy again.

This finish makes me look like I know what I'm doing
My father used to joke, "almost like I knew what I'm doing," when something he was working on turned out well.I've tried many finishes over the years for fine woodworking and this is by far the best. It applies easily, cleans easily, and I love it that it builds up well. I don't really know how many coats it would take for a traditional finish. I'm applying three coats to natural-wood (fir) cabinets, doors, and drawer fronts that I'm custom building (100% DIY) for my kitchen. I love this stuff and will always return to it for future projects. It's that good.So yeah, it does make it look like I know what I'm doing!

Great Results
I used this product to refinish a desk which I had stripped down to bare wood. The application was easy and the results were perfect. I was especially happy that there was absolutely no yellowing of the natural color of the wood which is so common with polyurethane products. The final look was as if the wood was damp with water. Since this product is thicker you need to heavy load your brush as it does not self level as much as thinner products.I am very happy with the results.

Use a roller, not a brush to apply
Purchased to use as a top coat for my painted kitchen cabinets. Initially I followed the directions and used a brush to paint onto the wood. It was clumpy, looked horrible and I had to sand it off. After consulting with a friend, I used a hi-density foam 4" roller and mixed the gloss with a tiny bit of water. This was the winning ticket! 2 coats went on smooth, no streaks, dried fast and looks awesome.Save yourself the trouble when it comes to cabinets, roll it on! Forget the brush!

Best Heavy Coverage Poly on the market!
Bought this product after trying 2-others for a large, challenging project. I have 4-huge, old barn doors with peeling paint that I wanted to keep fairly intact as they are soon going into my newly built house. I took the loose paint off and wanted the remaining paint to have a permanent coating to keep the shabby, chippy appearance while making the surface smooth and prevent additional paint shed-off. This Rust-oleum Triple Thick did the trick! It goes on super heavy and dries perfectly clear with a no-sheen matte finish. Friends have to run their hand over my barn doors to believe there is any finish on them. The thick consistency protects the rough wood and paint finish perfectly.

Best product I've tried!
I sanded and restained a table top then used this product for protection. I absolutely love this stuff. I've tried other products that say matte but still have some shine to them and I hate that! This stuff has no shine. It dried perfectly matte but still protects. I'm going to order more for another project!

Easy to use
Goes on thick and dried well. It is possible to put it on too thick and to get bubbles.
