Great outboard motor
Hangkai 6.5hp 4 strokes arrived in good package, no damage, fast shipping. Changed oil in motor and reductor and it started from third or second pull. Took to lake for 2 hours, no issues so far. Great quality. I do not see any difference with Tohatsu or other outboards.

Good motor for price 6.5hp 4 stroke
I bought this during duck season, so I used it very little last year. I have used it about every other weekend for the last 4 months. I will have to say that with 2 guys (both around 225lbs + gear+ boat (14' flat bottom) it moved us right along. I can run several hours (6 plus) on one 3-gallon tank. I did have to turn down the low idle as it would go about 2mph just idling, now runs around 1.1-1.2 mph. Also, the top part of the hood cracked maybe 4th time out. so i ended up doing a patch over this crack. Everything works well. Sound is a little bit loud but no foam in the engine bay to dampen it.*Highly recommend to not leave it laying on its side when it rains outside as the carb can absorb water due to the direction it fits in the compartment*

a Bang for the buck!
The media could not be loaded. what can i say, this thing performs quite nice for the price.I use it in a Takacat 380 LX inflatable and runs quite nice with 2 people, maybe if you're thinking on carrying more people consider a bigger motor.

I’m definitely satisfied
Took forever to come but it works better than I expected. Exceeded my expectations fr. Took it out about 3-4 times and it starts up and runs no problem. 100% worth the money without a doubt. Went a pretty long distance yesterday and it was a breeze. Not loud or smoky or anything. Long story short get u one.

Ran once.. now just stalls out, seller won’t exchange
The media could not be loaded. Day 1 started up ran machine at 20% throttle for run in , ran great. A few days later started engine up, ran for minute and stalled. Now when I try to start it, it runs for 15 seconds and stalls. Tried with choke in all 3 positions and tried giving some throttle but stalls out. I missed the return window by a week. And the seller is not doing anything to help. So now I’m stuck with a worthless piece a metal return cut off was April 29.. today is the May 15.. the fact there seems to be no type of factory warranty on an engine is BS….

Love it.
This little motor has been exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want a big fast motor. I just wanted something to get me away from the shore and allow me to fish all sides of the rivers and lakes near where I live. This motor has been very reliable. I did find that once I set the starting gas position higher than is recommended, as a motor starting position, it starts on the first pull almost every time. This motor pushes my 14' Alumacraft boat at about 7-8 mph. I did keep topping the gas off, but honestly this thing runs on thimbles of gas. I have hit my 10 hour break-in period and am almost positive the entire 10 hours would have only used one tank of gas. I am probably exaggerating, but it is very efficient on gas. Now, having said that, once you run around at 7-8 mph, there is a natural desire to want to go faster. I can see myself buying the 12 or 18 HP versions in the future. But, keep in mind, the 12 and 18 HP versions are 2-stroke and not 4-stroke like the 6.5HP, so you will have to mix your gas for those. The 6.5 HP takes Gear Oil and Motor Oil (in different compartments of course). 4 Stroke Marine oil 10W-30 or 25W-40. The Gear oil is Marine Gear Lube SAE-90. Hope this helps

Runs well, but not even close to advertised hp. My 9.9 will do circles around this motor. 14ft jon boat.
