Confessions of a Crappy Christian: Real-Life Talk about All the Things Christians Aren’t Sure We’re Supposed to Say--and Why They Matter to God

For those that consider themselves a Christian, don't we all feel like "crappy Christians" sometimes? I've followed Blake's podcast & Instagram account for a while and was intrigued when she announced she was writing a book. Confessions of a Crappy Christian has made me laugh and cry. I've never met Blake, but in reading the book, it feels like she has met me right where I'm at, sitting at a table chatting. Blake's stories of experiencing bullying, heartbreak, betrayal, and disappointment are things many of us know all too well. I appreciate her authenticity, frank verbiage, and the way she candidly speaks about her emotions and thoughts in situations so that the rest of us don't feel so wild to admit we've been there as well. Finally, and most importantly to me, Confessions of a Crappy Christian is a read that reminds you just how much God loves you (and likes you!) and how no matter where you have been or where you are going, you always have a seat at His table. Highly recommend!

I cannot even begin to describe how good this book is. I follow Blake on IG, and have for a while. I love her content and when I found out she wrote a book I was like “OK, I’ll give it a shot. We’ll see.”You guys. This girl can WRITE.You know how some people make it big on IG and then they think they have arrived, and they start doing things (like write a book) because they think it’s the “next step” in their progression to fame? This is NOT that. This is a *legit* book…easy to read, meaningful, hilarious, emotional, REAL. I could not put it down, and I do not even consider myself an avid reader.Blake, WELL DONE. I hope God puts it on your heart to write another one…because I would be first in line to purchase it. 💜

I started this book January 1, 2023. It is now January 4, 2023 and I've already finished it. I planned on reading it throughout the month and hoping to finish it by the end of January. I couldn't put it down! It was so good. I rarely ever leave reviews for things I buy, but I had to for this one. I laughed, cried, and absorbed so much that was written. I absolutely recommend this book!

I absolutely loved this book. I loved how relatable this book was to struggles as Christians in today's world. My favorite part about this book was the way it made me rethink my relationship with Jesus and who he really is. The author does an amazing job at emphasizing the deep love and connection the Lord craves from us. This is absolutely a must read as a Christian!

So. Relatable.This is my second time reading through Confessions of a Crappy Christian. I feel like I'm being seen, while also making a friend. It's given me confidence to talk about certain issues in my life, as well as gain clarity on so much that I've been unsure of. It's challenged my thoughts on much of my upbringing, and broken chains that I thought were there indefinitely.I've recommended it more than any other book.Get it. You won't be disappointed.

Blake addresses many of the topics that just aren’t being talked about (or aren’t talked about enough) in the church or Christian circles. Stories of hurt and healing and friendship breakups and the hard work of growing our faith is exactly what we need in a world of people who’d rather deconstruct their faith instead of simply asking good questions and going deeper. It’s the book you’ve always wanted someone to write, and now it’s here!

Blake has put into words and on paper what so many of us struggle with. She has been given wisdom to guide us biblically in how we are to be and how to honour God through it all. This book will open your eyes and release a new faith!
