Pour water in and coffee comes OUT!
I've been using a Bunn for over 45 years. My last one was one of these and think it's about 15 years old. I still use an old 6 cup pot. The new pot, we both hate. The upside is this unit hold more hot more hot water and doesn't take as long to heat up for a second pot for someone not to be mentioned who makes their own coffee, so the 6 cups when made are mine. When your Bunn dies and starts leaking, it's like losing an old friend you've gotten up with every day for years. I love pouring in water and coffee comes out great and it's FAST! It makes perfect coffee, imo. ONE thing to remember- if you go on a trip- turn it off with the switch. Years ago you had to unplug it then Bunn added a switch. Mine never gets turned off. It's there ready to go every a.m. We just don't like the new pots. We give them away to the local swap shop.

My favorite coffee makers
My favorite coffee makers. No frills, buttons, bells or whistles. Just straight forward and simple to use. Water goes in and excellent coffee comes out. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for

BUNN is the best!
We have used Bunn for 15 years without a problem, unfortunately, it developed a leak. Our new Bunn arrived yesterday, and we are thrilled. What has impressed us is the simplicity, the speed, the long term longevity, and the great coffee it brews.

I'm a BUNN convert - but call for the flow restrictor
I ordered this Bunn high altitude coffee maker after my husband and I grew increasingly disenchanted with the Cuisinart brand of coffee makers - our last Cuisinart was trouble almost from the very start, and we were looking for something different. I'd read many reviews about this Bunn machine, both positive and negative, and decided to give Bunn a try. I'm so glad I did - my husband and I are now enjoying a no fuss, easy, and generally stress-free coffee making experience every morning. Oh, and the Bunn brews a fast, hot, and delicious pot of coffee! We live at 5000 feet, so the high altitude version of this coffee maker was a good fit for us - the coffee comes out hotter than it would otherwise. A few things to keep in mind: There IS a learning curve using the Bunn. The prep process is slightly different than other coffee makers, but it's not hard to learn, and once you get the hang of how this machine works you CAN brew yourself a pot of coffee while half asleep, just like you did with other machines. Also, like other reviewers have noted, you'll probably want to call Bunn's 800 number and request that free "flow restrictor" part ... The part that they'll cheerfully and promptly mail to you upon request, and the part that they probably ought to just include in the box with the machine. I found that without it you run the risk of having a mess of water and coffee grounds all over the place when you try to brew a full pot of coffee, which is what happened to me. So upon the advice of of other reviewers I called Bunn customer service (yes, Bunn is a true "made in the USA" company, and their customer service folks are here in the USA, which I really appreciate) and had the flow restrictor part within 2 days. It was easy to swap out the existing part, and since then I've had no problems with my Bunn-O-Matic coffee maker. Finally, keep in mind that the Bunn doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles - no clock, no timer, no automatic shut-off etc. But honestly, the Bunn brews a better cup of coffee, and I like the simplicity of it. I am a Bunn convert and encourage others to give Bunn a try. The overall quality of both the machine and the brewing experience are truly superior to other brands.

Excellent quality product
Great coffee maker, 10 cup capacity. Quality coffee every morning. Only drawback I've found is be very careful not to overfill the reservoir as it will run over an spill all over the counter. High quality with a brand name. The last Bunn coffeemaker I had lasted over 10 years.

Awesome coffee maker -- we won't go back
My wife and I both say this is the best coffee maker either of us has ever had. You get hot coffee fast, and it tastes much better than what you get out of a standard drip machine. Granted, it's a little pricier than a typical drip machine, but it's not overpriced and certainly worth it. Here are our observations: Water flow - The `product features' section on Amazon says it makes 10 cups in just three minutes. Our unit takes 4.5 minutes for 10 cups ... 50% longer than advertised, but it sure beats waiting 13 - 14 minutes like we did with our other coffee makers. Sprayhead design - Bunn says their sprayhead design improves coffee flavor, and it does. My wife, whose taste buds are much more sensitive than mine, says she immediately noticed the coffee did not have an acidy taste - that it was very fresh and smooth tasting. Side effect of the sprayhead design: The unit's instructions warn that if you make decaf coffee or use coffee that's ground too fine, the sprayhead will cause the grounds to overflow, even when using Bunn's taller filters. This happened to us (we drink a lot of decaf). The instructions say if this happens to just call Bunn and they'll send out a flow restrictor for free. We did that. Not only was their customer service rep very polite, she sent us two flow restrictors (one for a backup). Side effect of the flow restrictor: The flow restrictor slowed the process of making 10 cups of coffee from 4.5 minutes to 6.25 minutes, but I'm still not complaining. And, the coffee still tastes fresh and smooth, not acidy. Filters: The unit calls for using Bunn's tall coffee filters. With the overflow problem we ordered a bunch right away. But after we got the flow restrictor we found that even standard store-bought filters worked fine. That said, the Bunn filters have a much better quality. Carafe: Excellent design. No spills, drips, or dribbles, no matter how you use it. The carafe provides a nice, clean pour, every time. Important note: The Bunn operates on a different principle than your standard drip machine. Be sure to read the instructions carefully BEFORE plugging it in, as you have to fill the reservoir and let it heat up for 15 minutes to get the unit ready to go. That's a one-time thing, but the unit will be damaged if you don't do it. The instructions provided are pretty clear - just be sure to read them! This machine is a straightforward coffee maker. No clock, no timer, no programmability, no auto-off. But we're fine with that. This machine makes very hot, fresh-tasting coffee in relatively short order. I doubt we'll ever switch back to waiting 13 - 14 minutes for a pot of tepid, acidy coffee. We like the Bunn. It will stay.
