Review: Stopped his biting fleas better than the prescription product - After spending all kinds of money on, I put Frontline Plus on my Husky/Australian Cattle Dog mix after Next Guard II failed to work for him. Other than trying to rub it off (I kept him inside for 2 hours) he completely stopped scratching within 24 hours. He has a double coat of thick fur so rubbing it in real good to get it down to his skin was key. There were no adverse reactions at all. No smell. No odor. I highly recommend Frontline Plus Flea and Tick. May not work on every dog, but it exceeded my expectations on my dog.

I had also heard that the product was becoming less effective. That does not seem to be the case for the fleas in my neck of the woods (and by neck of the woods I mean Philadelphia). 24 hours after applying Frontline Plus one of my dogs was flea free and the other had slow-moving fleas. It looked like a flea death march. 48 hours after applying the product both are free of live fleas and look much more comfortable. One still has flea dust which I will comb out later today. I did purchase the product for large dogs and distributed an appropriately sized dose to each of my small dogs. This was a cost saving measure that I am NOT recommending to others as I am not a vet. So, this batch would last me three months for both dogs. I discard the extra in the vial. Important Notes: (1) Do not wash your dog for at least a few days prior to treatment. The sweat in the hair and on the skin helps the product to adhere. (2) Do not wash your dogs for at least a few days after treatment for this same reason. (3) Read the box carefully, and return it if you see any red flags (i.e. product name on vial does not match box) Also, in response to the "Buyer Beware" posted on 10/15/12. My product has none of the issues that this reviewer mentioned. 1. I did receive calendar stickers with the product. 2. The back of the vial was properly labeled "Frontline Plus" 3. **Q: I've been using Frontline Plus for years, but lately it seems to be not as effective as it used to be. Has anyone noticed the same results ?**
A: Yes! After trying multiple flea & tick medication, my dog wasn’t getting any better...took her to the vet & she stated that the over the counter flea & tick medication isn’t effective since it’s been on the market for some time, the fleas have evolved & aren’t responding to the meds. Plus she said this season has been the worst so that doesn’t help either!!! Take them to the vet, my dog now is flea/tick free

A: "It is OK to bathe your pet before using FRONTLINE, but the coat should be completely dry prior to application. In the 48 hours immediately after treatment, do not bathe, shampoo or let your dog go swimming." (FRONTLINE webste)
   This medication works systemically after being absorbed through the skin. Insufficient dosing will lead to product failure.

**Q: effectiveness**
A: Ive never had a flea problem with frontline, but for ticks they would attach to the dog before it died. 
So i switched to the seresto 8 month collar. The 1st one i used worked great no issues. The 2nd one 
(8months later) had the same date as the first one. I dont know if that was an issue but the collar stopped working 
after 5 months and we ended up with fleas. First time that we ever had fleas. So i am going back to frontline. 
My concerns are the date on package and where its coming from.
