## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have a 1" deep baseboard on each side. Will this kit suit the need seeing as the gate screw attachments are a little bit adjustable?**
A: The filler strip will have to be above the baseboard.  This will then give a under the gate clearance of approximate four inches.  You will have to make the screw adjustments on the gate to work.  This is a great product and we have two them.
No problems with the unit after the adjustments are made.  Michael

**Q: what exactly comes in this kit?  All I need is the mounting hardware in the first pic.  This is very unclear what parts are included in his purchase.**
A: It has been a while, but I believe what this is what comes in the kit: One wood piece for mounting on banister, 3 zip ties, and screws, in case you don't want to or can't use the zip ties.  I believe that's it.  We bought two of these for mounting between a wall and banister in two spots, and they worked great.

**Q: how wide is this gate?**
A: The width can be adjusted and the end extensions are screwed out to fit.  Nice gate system.  We have two and they are great.

**Q: What exactly come in this installation kit?  Just a board and zip ties?  Does it include the plastic part that screws into the wall?**
A: The gate is all metal.  Nice construction.  The mounting hardware is plastic and steel pins.  If mounted on the door frame, just need to screw into the wood.  If mounted on drywall, you will need a wood strip to be attached to the drywall.  Then attach the hardware to the wood strip.  Some adjustment my be needed if the existing opening is not plum and out of square.  I suggest a small level be used as you plan out the installation.  Again, nice working hardware and quality gate.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Product will Purchase Again

I’m truly impressed by the design and functionality of the product. After purchasing two other gates for my 10 month old son; only to discover that it was impossible to install because a wooden banister and the wall was at an angle close to a stair rail. As a result of all of these difficulties I went on a hunt which lead me to this product.The additional wooden post which is straped onto the banister allowed me to avoid having to drill the screws directly into the banister. I read comment of the wooden post slipping so after installation, therefore, I created grooves where the plastic pulleys are located then used my pliers to titen as much as possible. No issues with the wooden post slipping out of place.Installment of the gate took longer then expected but is easy enough with some patience and endurance.So far after two months of my son pulling and attempting to destroy the gate it has held up with no issues. There is another section in our house where we have the same issue and I’ll be purchasing this product again.

Very cheaply made, not worth your money. Go to an home improvement store and but wood and make your own.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Don't buy if you're going to use on drywall ...

Purchased this to mount a (KidCo) gate to drywall ...On the one hand, you end up with all the parts you need in one package. On the other hand, there are some very serious drawbacks:1) If your baseboard isn't the precise thickness of the small chunk of wood they include, you're going to need something else to brace the top with (I ended up using extra shims from the KidCo banister installation kit).2) The toggle bolt -- i.e., the hardware you need to attach this to drywall -- is crap. Easily strips, and will not tighten enough to prevent the whole mess from wiggling from side to side. A toggle bolt creates a larger hole than the bolt (on purpose), in order for the wings to pass through. But for an installation like this where there will be stress from side to side (not just in one direction, as when you're just hanging something), you need hardware that plugs the hole to prevent lateral movement. The good news is that there are dozens of products that will do this, but they're at the hardware store, not in this box.
