Melissa & Doug Decoupage Made Easy Giraffe Paper Mache Craft Kit With Stickers

I purchased 4 of these kits for an 8, 7 and two 6 year olds. The 8 year old was able to do much of it herself, but I ended up doing the other 3 because they felt it was too hard. The stickers didn't stick, and I feel it would be more appropriate for 8 or 9 year olds.

So disappointed in this decoupage kit...the stickers do not stick. I would not recommend this product!

My 9 yo was disappointed and frustrated. The stickers did not adhere to the giraffe despite her best efforts. The box states in step 1 to "plan designs ahead of time- most of the stickers are needed to fully cover the giraffe." She planned, and still was short enough stickers to cover the head. This is aimed at kids over 6. The company should not be so stingy on stickers. Another 5 or 10 is all it needed to have enough not to stress about finishing. Then when she decided the head did not need stickers, when she placed the glue (you coat it in glue to finish it) on the stickers - the stickers started coming off even more. She removed them all and we will use the paper-mache giraffe as a base for painting. Not the quality I expect from Melissa and Doug.

This giraffe is terrible. The stickers don’t stick at all, the glue can’t save it. My nine year old found this extremely frustrating. It is a terrible design and needs parental help no matter the age since it doesn’t work as intended.

The stickers need to be stickier. They need to be more Pliable too. It was hard to keep sticker down around corners. Okay, but could be a lot better.

My 8 YO granddaughter had a great time making her giraffe.

Unfortunately, the stickers don’t stick!
