Thus, rather than saying 'This is how to do it,' I've tried to say 'Here are some ways that seem to work" (from the Introduction to the Third Edition). This philosophy is carried throughout the book, giving examples and ideas, but always with the attitude that there is no one right way to teach. This book would be valuable whether you are just starting out or have taught for a while. I bought this book in preparation for the Cambridge CELTA class. I didn't have time to read it all before the class, but I referred to it and used it for assignments while taking the class.
