It comes in two pieces, a faceplate and a base. It is hollow inside to store stuff. The interior is also chrome plated. The chrome finish and paint are well done. The piece is solid resin and hefty for its size. The eye lenses are translucent red plastic with a silver backing making them reflect light nicely. Photos do not do this piece justice - it looks even better in person! It was easy to modify and add LEDs. I drilled through the back of the face plate behind the eyes. The lenses popped off easily, and I stripped the silver backing to allow light to pass through. I rounded out and opened up the drill holes to permit as much light as possible, then remounted the red lenses and installed a red LED set inside the skull. Maybe an hour of work and this piece came to life! The last tweak was repainting the teeth, and now I think it's perfect.
