I immediately got to work and set them up in my planter. Wrapping the lights was certainly no fun but tonight it will look amazing. It did kill me to pay this much for birch logs but in the end, if they look like this (and last without any bugs) then it is totally worth it. They are very dry and clean. All four matched each other beautifully and are a nice white color. The thickest diameter is just under 2 inches narrowing down to a top diameter around 1 inch. **Q: real wood?** A: Yes, it is a real birch branch. I made them into a curtain rod, love it!! **Q: Is it possible to purchase just 1 pole, rather than the whole set?** A: I suggest you go to the seller’s list of all products on Amazon to see if they offer it in different quantities.
