Great toddler "high" chair
For our first child, we bought an inexpensive average sort of high chair from Target. He could never sit up in it quite right as the seat was very deep and wide and let his feet dangle. As it turns out, it's ideal for babies to have their feet flat on something, so we bought a little foot plate off Etsy. Our kiddo rarely used it - it was well made and installed at the perfect height, but it was pretty narrow so his wiggly feet wouldn't stay on. When we were able to, we got a Stokke Tripp Trapp. 2 years later, we still have the Tripp Trapp and a new baby. We don't have any hope of being able to afford another one by the time our second is ready to start solids, so I started looking for good budget friendly alternatives. I chose this one out of many adjustable chairs even though it doesn't work for babies. We figured we could give this one to our toddler and use the Tripp Trapp (with its removable chair back, front leg piece, and harness straps) for the baby. The Fornel chair arrived today and it was super easy to put together. The hardest part was getting everything out of the box because I had the baby strapped onto my chest in a wrap. Ha! Putting it together took 10 minutes, including the time it took to get my toddler to sit on it so I could check and adjust the height of the foot and seat plates. The chair is beautiful and sturdy and a FANTASTIC alternative to the popular and excellent but twice-as-costly Tripp Trapp. I wish this chair had the option to buy and add on a harness for a young baby. The fact that it's essentially only a toddler chair is its only major drawback. Otherwise, I'd actually 100% prefer this chair to the Tripp Trapp, as I like the shape of this chair better. And you can't beat the price. If we have another child, I will buy another of these Fornel chairs for our then-toddler while keeping the Tripp Trapp for the baby. And our first would still be using the first Fornel chair as it grows with the child, even holding up to 200 lbs! The Tripp Trapp holds up to 300 lbs, but even so, this chair can be used for a really long time, and may never be outgrown if you're not a large and heavy set person (for example, me! The heaviest I've been is 160 lbs while pregnant). Truly, this is a fantastic chair.I took several pictures of the Fornel and Stokke chairs side by side for comparison, but I'm unable to attach them here for some reason. Both are nearly identically sized - the Stokke chair is around ¼" wider overall, but the seats of both chairs are the same width. The Fornel is maybe ¾" taller from floor to top of the chair. Both chairs are the same depth measured from the front to the back of the legs along the floor. The Fornel does have smaller foot and seat plates depth-wise, which is one con in my opinion. However, the Fornel has higher slots in which to slide in the seat, making it more adjustable. (Perhaps it would work for a kitchen island???)In short, this chair rocks. I love it and so does my toddler. And our wallet.Pros:1. Price2. Easy to put together and adjust3. Grows with your child4. Quality/sturdinessCons:1. Not for babies2. Foot and seat plates are smallish

Great option over the Stokke Tripp trapp
So we do have the stokke tripp and i swear by it and tell everyone to get it. For a few months my two year old hasn’t needed the infant seat and has been using the stokke like the fornel highchair. My second though recently started solids, but i didn’t feel like spending another $250 for just the chair alone for the stokke. Decided to try this one for my toddler and it’s great. Adjustable to his height, he can climb in and out of it safely like the stokke and the material is really nice and smooth, easy to clean (we got the natural wood color) It pushes up perfect height to our kitchen/dining room table as well.Anyways, if you swear by stokke like me, but don’t wanna fork out the $$ again when you have a baby/toddler, i highly recommend this chair! Easy to put together and sturdy (also got the natural color and fits right in with the rest of our stuff)

Should have purchased years ago
The design of this for our little 3 year old is flawless. Solidly built, ergonomic posturing and slides on our wood floors like butter (yay no scratch marks). It brings our little guy sooo high up to the table where he needs to be it makes me realize how far away he was in regular chairs. He also slides it into the kitchen to step up and help mom at the counter with cooking. It is perfect height and design for this task too. My only complaint is against myself for not buying it for my older two.Ps i also love that when no one is sitting there and I am pushing it in under the table how little of the chair is left sticking out! No tripping hazard . Also the sheen finish on the wood makes it a dream to wipe up spills😁 great chair! Love it.

Great chair!
We love this chair! My 3-year-old son is able to sit comfortably at the table now. You do have to loosen screws to adjust the seat and the footrest, and then retighten them when done, which is not the most convenient design if you want to readjust for different people regularly. But since only our son is using it, this is actually a plus since our small child would otherwise take it apart constantly. And it makes for a sturdier chair this way. My son is able to climb onto it himself without worry of pieces slipping out or the chair tipping over. It is easy to wipe clean, also a plus when used by a kid. I am knocking off one star for 2 reasons: 1) The chair didn’t come with assembly instructions. Thanks to other reviewers input and advice, my husband was able to easily put it together, but instructions would have been appreciated. 2) I ordered a “turquoise” chair, and the chair is not even remotely what anyone would call turquoise. It is closer to a baby blue, though that is not quite the right description either. The color is nice, but not as described, so worth noting.

So far so good
Just put this chair together yesterday, so I don’t know about how long it will last but I do know it’s a gorgeous color. It was super easy to put together and took about 10-20 min. the seat and foot rest are pretty difficult to get into the slot so make sure you have it where you want it first if possible. I like that they’re in they’re tight for safety purposes and hopefully they don’t loosen too much with wear and tear. Only downfall is I can’t move the chair from counter island to dining table daily because it would be too much work for me to adjust the seat setting. So it’ll stay at our counter island table. Our 99% in height 4.5 year old can sit on the top setting and it’s the perfect height for our counter island! we had previously bought a Different slightly cheaper chair like this but it was way too short for the island, so we exchanged for this one. Worth the money because he can now sit and be stable and not slide around or fall daily like he was doing on our counter stools.

Looks good and made sturdy
We are happy with our purchase. Looks good. Nice smooth finish, easy to clean and sturdy. Adjustable seat and foot plate are a friction fit and require a little muscle to adjust. But that keeps is rigid.

A good chair, but can be more sturdy
Good solid wood. Both my children and myself can sit on it without any problem. The only problem is that if children are moving on the chair, it does wibble a little, and after a few days, some of the screws become loose and I have to tight them again. For children, you can never expect them to sit there quietly all the time, so some improvement will be good.

Good, Sturdy, Looks Nice
Bought this for grandkids to use at the cabin. It looks nice and adults can sit on it too if necessary. When grandkids aren't around it'll probably do double-duty as a side-table. Was a bit of effort to put together because it's hard to hold the two pieces together and screw in the bolts at the same time. As soon I had the assistance of my 3-year old it was a lot easier. I wish they made it with attachments for a baby to be able to use it.

Fantastic
Bought it for my 5 year old for homeworks and dinner and he sits much better than on a ikea chair as it's adapted to his his size (also the footrest). Speedy delivery, very easy and speedy assembly, no plastic at all for the package. Great!

What a great quality!
I was at first sceptical about this chair but couldn’t make myself pay more for the Stokke ones. These did not disappoint. Easy to assemble, really great quality. Love the paint and all it’s features. Most importantly my son loves his big boy chair!!! Thank you!
