While i know a lot about northern italy i have to say that there is more to know and if you travel with children (we have 2 under teen ages) this is a must must read and take along for the trip.

No guidebook is going to keep up with the rapidly changing times, especially in light of COVID restrictions changing or being lifted entirely in the course of recent months. This book could be a useful starting point, but important practical info in it is dated now. There are pages devoted to paid travel services connected to the author, which I consider somewhat unwelcome. If you’re more comfortable with book format versus mobile phone/online resources, this book can help formulate an itinerary, but will have to be supplemented with real time information from another source.

We bought this guide about a month before a trip with our kids (5 and 9) to Garda, Venice and areas not covered by the guide. For areas covered, especially Lake Garda, it was a great guide to what is and is not kid-appropriate in the region. We used it to plan a Lake Garda and Verona itinerary, and it was a great resource for Venice. Highly recommend!
