This vise has two slots along each side for ease of mounting to any drill press. Malleable cast iron with orange powered coated finish. The 4 inch opening capacity will allow the user to clamp a wide range of products for safe drilling. The replaceable steel jaws are 4 inch wide and have a throat depth of 1/2 inch. The Chicago based Pony Tools Inc. (formerly known as Adjustable Clamp Co.) which was established in 1903 is the manufacturer of all Pony and Jorgensen products. The Pony Style 29000 vises are imported from China. Review: Quality product - I use this product for sharpening scissors and shears. I know it's not designed for that but it's safe and does a great job. This product is made very well and its weight make it idea for the task I have purchased it for. Review: Bigger and heavier that I expected - This is a chunky vise indeed. It's a bit oversized for my Skil benchtop drill press - perhaps a 3-inch would have been better - but I'm keeping it. It seems well put together and the price was very good. BTW, the unpainted, machined surfaces came in quite greasy to prevent rust in transit so expect to swab it down with paint thinner and a rag. And, you have to supply your own hold-down hardware. Received this today and immediately took it out since I need it for a project. It had several rough parts with sharp burs. The jaw plates were especially bad. Sharp burs the entire length of the plate facing the holding area on both jaws. I completely disassembled the vise and used a file and whetstone to clean up all the sharp bits. Would it have been better if the vise was in what I considered to be a good and usable state right out of the box? Yes. Is it still a worthwhile purchase at the price I paid? Also yes.
