Water them
Great price, got them to germ fairly quick. Was shipped in a standard envelope, however had bubble wrap protecting the hull of the seeds

Oh my goodness!!!!
I planted all seeds, both the red and leafy green. I planted some in my Aerogardens in the house and the rest in small pots outside, which I covered with netting against bugs (Florida here) and against the cold at night when it was 32F or below. One night it got down to 24F, but they survived. The ones that grew in the Aerogardens are much bigger and leafing out, while the ones that grew outside are much smaller, at this point. I had soaked the seeds for three days after reading that they were tough, and that seemed to work.

Not one sprout! Not one!

Fun to try
Really slow to germinate and only about half germinate at all. The ones that did are growing well.

The first seeds I planted sprouted!
I learned about Malabar Spinach recently and after eating it decided to give growing a shot here in Central Florida. I'll start these in containers because our soil has nematodes and I'm informed that they might be an issue.I planted the first seeds in potting soil (very coarse stuff) after soaking them overnight. I have sprouts after 4 days. I'll be planting the red vein variety in a few days and try that out as ground cover. I'm going to raise some seedlings in a grow hut and see how it works out. It's now 2 weeks later: Every sprout is still wearing it's cotyledons. The red malabar sprouts have been coming up for 3 days. I'm growing some outdoors and some indoors.Mixed success with sprouting in various potting media. 15% success in seed starting mix, 80% in potting mix. 100% seeds planted in the ground. All sprouts look healthy and vigorous and 4 were transplanted. The red malabar seems much more vigorous than the green. Their cotyledons tripled in size before they sprouted more leaves.
