FabrianoWatercolor Book, White

Based on Fabriano's reputation--and my own experience of painting on Artistico cold pressed--I decided to purchase this sketchbook. Admittedly, I should I have read the description more carefully or asked the seller specific questions concerning the book. I did not do so; and this is the reason that I still give the item a 5 star rating--specifically, for what it is, the book is acceptable. The paper is not, however, what I was hoping it would be; it is not Artistico quality. When I saw a Fabriano sketchbook, I was hoping the paper would be Artistico quality--in fact, I assumed it was. I was wrong to do so. The paper is a mix. It is not 100 percent cotton rag. And though it is acceptable, it forces me to lay down my paint differently than were I using Artistico paper. Again, this is not the book's fault nor the seller's; rather, it is mine for not reading the description as carefully as I should have done.

The book alone is a lovely little piece of art, and I'm excited to fill it with little watercolor and ink studies. I've purchased several other watercolor paper books before, and this is my favorite so far. It lays flat pretty well, and the materials used in the cover and end papers is high quality as well.

This is a nice book. The proportions of the pages are nice, and the paper is a good color with nice tooth. But the paper EATS micron pens so don’t ink with those. Otherwise pretty good.

I enjoyed using this lovely paper for watercolour. It behaved as expected for the weight of the paper. The bookbinding is of good quality.
