mounted to the side of my bed frame. holds my 5.25" 40 with no problem

I just got the item in the mail today, and took it out to see how well it would stick to the metal frame of my bed, where I would be using it to have a pistol close at hand in case of emergency, home invasion, alien attack or I see a Brown Recluse Spider. The two silver magnets clamped it on well when I tried it, but when I went to pull it off to test the strength, one of the magnets came off and stayed stuck to the frame. Looks like whatever adhesive held it failed. I put it back on (the magnets inside that hold the gun on the other side snapped it back on) and tried it with the gun on it. It came off with the gun a few times and other times stayed on the frame, so I may try some Gorilla Glue super glue to put it back on. It may do better on a larger metal surface, as the bed frame strip isn't all that wide. I'll probably drill and use the screws to hold it on so it's secure.To just hold it inside a safe or something, I think the magnets would be fine, but to have it stay when you need to grab a gun from it in an emergency, I'd say the screws would be a more stable option. All in all though, the item is well made, very solid feeling and I put a S&W Performance Center ported 9mm on to it and it held it very well, and the black coated surface didn't scratch or mar the gun finish. I think it will work perfectly and the angled style puts the gun grip in an easier to grab position. My only negative would be the magnet coming off.

Works as described

The double-stick mounting tape is as bad as everyone says, maybe worse. I thought I would use the mounting tape along with screws for a little extra support; however, the tape would not support the magnet long enough to put the screws in.I mounted the magnet using the screws and tested the holding strength by driving up and down the worst road that know of and the magnet held the handgun with no problem.Plan to mount the magnet using screws or purchase a better double-sided mounting tape, because the mounting tape provided is useless.

Works great for holding a pistol with a red dot . Depending on the surface you're attaching it to your probably gonna need to screw it fast.

I love this thing it's small compact and convenient and it's strong as hell that gun stays there no matter what you can put it upside down right side up sideways in any way you can imagine it doesn't matter whether it's a revolver or a you know like a Glock style gun or something it's it's it's a great device you did it real quick as far as I know most everyone my friends have at least one I got two so keep the ideas coming and it's priced really good too I mean how can you beat that price you can't I recommend it highly
