I purchased this slip to wear to a costume party under a Civil War Era dress. It is perfect. Flip it inside out. Then the satin is next to your legs and the tulle can fluff out and add bulk to your skirts, giving them the full look you are trying to achieve. It is a good value and makes the dress perfect! It fits well. I didn't notice any bad smell. I highly recommend this slip.

BACKGROUND: I've been searching high and low for a slip with stiff crinoline to give shape to my BHLDN wedding gown. The gown came with a massive amount of crinoline but was not attached properly and made me look enormous around the hips so I removed it. My other reviews detail additional slips I tried from Amazon after a David's Bridal slip didn't work. PRO's: This slip arrived without any funny chemical smells, dust or dirt. The crinoline material was mostly flat as opposed to others that came wadded up and required tons of fluffing, or would require steaming. There are several stiff crinoline layers such that this slip can stand on it's own. That is, If you put the slip parallel to you, it literally stands up next to you. Everything else I tried, hoop or not, just collapsed and was made of very lightweight tulle or crinoline. This looks like the picture in terms of shape and keeps its form in terms of being much wider at the bottom. It makes a nice swooshing sound when you're in it. If you're ~5'6" this will be the perfect height for you. The under layers of nylon and crinoline are around 5'3" and the top layer is 3" longer. Easy to cut off if you're shorter. The waistline drops so you will not look pregnant or like you have a huge caboose. CONS: What I don't like is the waistband which looks cheap and is incredibly tight. If you have a 24" waist it will work. If you're wider, you need to cut it or figure out an alternative. I wish this had a stretchy shapewear top instead of the waistband but it would need to be high quality and thicker material to keep the crinoline layers from sliding down. ALL IN ALL: Definitely worth the price. This makes my tulle gown look sublime. I'd imagine it would even keep heavier materials like velvet supported. The first time I cried in my wedding gown was when I tried it on with this so the alterations I'll need to make it work will be worth it.

This crinnolin worked great! It was the perfect fit and added the needed volume to my daughter's prom dress. She danced the night away without any issues. For reference, my daughter is 5'2".

All things considered, great purchase...this was exactly what we needed at a better price than those sold in dress shops. Pros: perfect size for my small (size 2) daughter to wear under her prom dress. Just the right amount of poof without resorting to a hoop (we didn’t want that “hoop look” where the dress is swinging like a bell) so this petticoat is ideal. With four layers of crinoline, it gives a good amount of poof and you could probably fluff it up even more, if so desired. Cons: bad smell upon opening! It’s clearly brand new, but the crinoline and/or fabric has an unpleasant odor, so expect to either dry clean or wash (gentle cycle only) to freshen it up. Also, the size is nowhere near a “One size fits all,” it’s definitely for someone with a small waist. Yes there is a drawstring which is great, but to use the Velcro closure, you’d have to be fairly slim. You can bypass that issue by just ignoring or removing the Velcro portion and going with the drawstring only but even then, this may not fit if your usual size range is L-XL. The elastic waist is snug and fits a small waist quite well. NOTE: I’ve seen in some reviews it’s been called scratchy...just make sure you wear it with the lining on the INSIDE. The Crinoline goes on the outside. It may arrive inside-out like mine did, so just don’t wear it backwards and it should be fine 😊

This was a perfect fit. It came way before the dress that I needed for my daughter‘s prom. But her classmate was able to use it that night.

The item itself is nice, the sizing was a little off. I’m usually a size 8-10 in US clothes and it says it could fit 2-16. It was still tight around my waist area when I sat down and not super comfortable. Have had it for a while and just got around to finally wearing it under my Indian outfits.

Not as puffy as it looks in the images but was perfect for my wedding dress and stayed put all day.

Great product as it’s full of netting making the ball gown look amazing. Fits well.

It does the job and the elastic band also has a string to secure it. It's simple, adds volume, does not smell and came in great conditions. The price might be on the higher point but worth it if you need it fast and on time for a special event.
