Mastering Communication at Work
I was initially prompted to read the book because one of the co-authors, Ethan Becker, was secured to facilitate a staff development workshop at the college where I work. Reading the book was a good use of my time because it is loaded with practical tips to motivate yourself and others, to run effective meetings, to give and receive criticism and keep it in perspective, and to master effective presentation techniques. These are but a few of the concepts that Becker and Wortmann so aptly deliver and discuss in their book.

Great value.
Bought this for one of my Assistant Managers. We work in Retail so we have all different personalities in the building. This book has helped her tremendously.Communication is not something that is organic (as in to come naturally) for a lot of people. This book is amazing!

Very easy read with pertinent advise
Very easy read with pertinent advise. I implemented the skill set taught in this book and it works. You can't change how other people communicate but you can change how you communicate with other people. I found myself becoming more at ease and less stressed due to the fact that when I applied the knowledge gained from this book, I knew I was doing it right.

This book is really good, I've read only about half because I am going back over everything covered so far an re-reading and studying. It has a lot of highly actionable items whether you work with one other person or a large team. Great tips even for a great communicator.

Good tips
This books contains good tips about communication basics, and how to handle all sorts of situation at work. It is very focused on the role of manager. It looses one star because I think they give too much details and spend too much time describing some X or Y guy success or failure story, and the last chapter supposed to be the only one to remember is just totally useless.Good overall though.
