Excellent glassware from France but HORRIBLE packaging from.Amazon
This item is great, time-tested durable glassware from France. I've bought this before and love, love, love it. HOWEVER, the packaging for this latest shipment was absolutely disgraceful. My impression is that Amazon somehow combined and repackaged items into a new bundle of 6 glasses, using a minimum of packaging. My box arrived with the glasses audibly rattling inside as I moved it. The box was a "made to fit" Amazon box using a single layer of cardboard. It was actually too large for the glassware inside as they rattled and moved about in the box. When I opened the box, I removed a package of glasses covered in a loose single layer of bubble wrap. Inside was a Duralex package of 4 glasses and two additional glasses wrapped in bubble wrap (single layer). Honestly, it's a miracle these glasses weren't broken and survived the shipping trip to my home intact.

Would buybthem again.
Durable, easy to clean, comfortable to hold, sturdy , don’t chip. However, when they break there are shards everywhere!

Too Dangerous - Throwing It Away
I requested a few sets of Duralex glasses on my wedding registry two years ago because I liked the look of these glasses and was attracted to the “stronger than regular glass” advertisement. In the short run, these glasses worked well and my family enjoyed them.At some point we broke a glass, knocking it into the sink. It broke into MANY pieces, and not just cubes or chunks but also MANY tiny pieces that required even more careful cleaning than normal. At this point, I was a little disappointed it broke because I thought it should have survived, but a normal glass would break in this case also. The next time we broke a glass, my wife was putting them back into the cupboard and knocked the glass against the edge of the cupboard. It also broke into MANY pieces, but we have never broken a normal glass this way before. We figured it was just a fluke, it must have hit just in the right way.The third time we broke a glass, it rolled out of my hand while I was washing it in the sink and dropped about 1-2 inches onto some bakeware and EXPLODED into MANY pieces. I say exploded because glass in the sink made it up 3-4 inches above the lip of the sink and scattered around it. There were even more tiny shards than I have seen before and I spent close to an hour cleaning it all up.On searching the internet I found that “exploding Duralex” is a thing, and that it has even happened to some people while they are holding onto a glass without dropping it (in rare occasions).I am going to throw all these glasses into the trash tomorrow because I can’t trust then and the clean up has been worse than normal glasses. It is a huge disappointment because I bought these glasses to be safer for my family and they are more dangerous than normal glass. I would recommend avoiding this product as it does not seem nearly as consistent as the tempered glass we are used to in cars.

Excellent quality!
The perfect everyday glass. I’ve bought these numerous times in the past and they’re so durable. I’ve even accidentally dropped one onto a tile floor and it didn’t even chip (maybe I just got lucky) but I was impressed!

Good glasses, but my family prefers textured, plastic tumblers
I’m frugal, and debated on ordering these Duralex glasses because they are pricey compared to typical drinking glasses. After using them for some time, I really like them and think they are great drinking glasses. Here's why:* They look nice.* They are tempered glass (very durable) and resistant to breaking, cracking and chipping. (I even purposely dropped one on the floor a couple of times to test it.)* They can withstand sudden thermal shock, and can be used in the microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher.* They are stackable without scratching up the glass.* They do not retain odors or stain like plastic does.* They look like new for a long time.* They are available in various sizes and designs, so you should be able to find a type that suits your needs. The one negative to me is, as I mentioned, they are more expensive than typical drinking glasses, but they should last much longer. However, my other family members prefer textured, plastic tumblers because they are lighter and less slippery (in general, but especially if hand washing). Obviously, it's a matter of personal preference. These glasses are made in France.Note: I see the price on these varies. I paid $32.50 for them, which is why I thought they were pricey. Ten months later, I see their current price is $24.27. THAT is much more reasonable!
