Fantastic product!!
This winch came in a very secure package and was super easy to install on my jumper. The hawse fairlead mounted right up with no clearance issues or trimming required. The winch mounted directly to my pre-existing bolt holes with no issues there either. Routing the power cables was fairly straightforward and hooking it up to the Battery was very easy. Only extra thing I will install is a power cutout switch for the positive lead to prevent it from shorting out in the event of a front end collision. The wired and wireless remotes worked flawlessly but there was a lot of crackle feedback in the speakers when operating the winch even with the radio turned off. I am pretty sure a noise filter will correct that issue. Otherwise I really love how it turned out!! Can’t wait to hit the trails and get some real operational time on it!!

Great quality
This is my 3rd winch, and it's been my favorite. I haven't bought the high-end Warn winches because this is just mean for safety. I'm not intending to use it in normal off-roading.The first winch was a Quadratec Q9000, and then a Rugged Ridge Trekker 10k. The Rugged Ridge was awful. It never worked correctly, and the customer support was awful. I would send Rugged Ridge a video of the problem, and they would send some part where I was supposed to take apart and install. This winch came quick (2 days) and I loved it. I haven't had a chance to really stress it, so that will come this summer. But the winch was high quality and so were the components. Much better than my other winches.. Also, the instructions were far better than the other two. It's a full blown multi-page glossy instruction manual (8.5 x 11) with photos, etc. The manual control appears to be great quality and it locks into place. My only complaint is that the hook is shown to be red, and they sent black instead. The fairlead, rope, and remotes were all the correct color (red).

Caveat Emptor…
Received winch in horrid condition. You’d think such an expensive product would be packaged by Rugcel in a more durable cardboard box…you’d be wrong. You also think that Amazon and UPS would handle a 70# package with care…wrong again. The bottom of the box had been ripped apart by the winch mounting points/feet. Bare metal was visible instead of the expected rugged black finish. Clearly the winch was dragged across surfaces during shipping. After pulling the winch out of the box, the motor cover cane off the rest of the winch assembly. After inspecting it further it was clear the bolts used to attach the motor cover had sheared off and had been damaged during shipping. Looking at the profile of the bolts, there are of absolute trash quality. Had Rugcel used quality bolts, they may have survived shipping…The fit and finish appears durable but I won’t be able to speak to the long term reliability of it. Pretty disappointed the finish came off the bottom of the winch during shipping…can’t imagine it holding up over time.I’m ordering a replacement and hoping it arrived undamaged. The ONLY reasons I’m even willing to consider this over the Badlands Apex 12,000 is the wireless clutch engage/disengage function, and the $500 vs $600 price. It’d be nice to engage/disengage the clutch without having to walk back to the winch every time.I’m purchasing on a credit card that extends the warranty period for two years past the expiration of the manufacture’s warranty. I’m hoping it doesn’t fail but if so, I’ll at least have some road to compensation. This is where I hate to say the Harbor Freight Apex 12,000 winch might still have me sold. Yes, it’s $100 more and has a manual clutch engage/disengage switch but……I could get a replacement winch in store if it dies/is damaged without any of the hassle I’ve gone through for a winch that was DOA. This took a 3 day project and turned it into a 14 day one with shipping and returns.Caveat emptor.

New winch for my car trailer
This winch came with all the parts, but the mounting plate, and structural steel under the deck, and the quick disconnect from the battery to the winch. In my pictures you will see the mounting plate I built the structural steel I added under the deck. The quick disconnect I got at Amazon. This is a very heavy duty 13500 lB winch. Really good quality. Shipping 2 day right on time. Great price Amazon big deal days. The fairlead, the hook, the battery cables, 2 remotes, and 1 plug in control. The remotes have 100 foot range. All good quality. This winch has all the same ratings as most of the other brands out there. I have badlands winches from Harbor freight, this one was cheaper and had synthetic rope. The mounting holes are the same as most of all the brands out there. 10" cl to cl and 4" cl to cl the other way.
