I wouldn't be surprised if this hoot is the exact same one as the Nikon branded one at a fraction of the cost - it is perfect.

This one works as well as the ones That used to come in any Nikon lens you bought. Is ridiculous that you have to buy it separately when the lens cost $699. It ain’t a cheap lens

Although lens hoods aren't always recommended for zoom lenses, I find that taking outdoor shots can result in too much glare to maintain sharpness. As a serious amateur, I wanted to be able to reduce that glare to photograph birds and other wildlife with my DX 50-250 mm lens (fitted to my Nikon Z6II.) Because I can't necessarily position myself to avoid it, this hood helps minimize stray light. It screws on with no issues. The hood itself isn't too long to make the limited f-stops on the lens a greater liability than they already are.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

This is a well made product that looks and works as I would expect of a lens hood - some extra protection and light handling qualities. I've been buying JJC parts like this and they all are consistently good.

We got this for a 50-250mm Z Nikkor lens. It was a fraction of the cost of the Nikon brand hood and seems to do the same job. A great addition to the bag, as it both protects the lens and shields the front element from stray light.

I’ve always had a good opinion of the JJC lens hoods. That has not changed for this one for the Nikon Z 50-250/4.5-6.3 VR lens.Quick and easy to put on and take off. Clicks on and stays on. Reversible. Does what I need it to and at an affordable price.

No, it's not as sturdy as a Nikon lens hood but so what? It is sturdy enough and either will break if you sit/fall on it (I know from experience). If you're sick of overpaying for Nikon accessories like I am, this will fit the bill quite well.

Seems to be of good quality and just as effective as the Nikon hood at much lower price. It fits snugly and doesn't wiggle around.

純正のHN-40を使用していましたが、プロテクトフィルター(MARUMI EXUS レンズプロテクト MarkII)がフードの前側に装着出来ず、レンズとフードの間に大きな段差が出来てしまい不格好でした。しかし、こちらの製品はフード前面にフィルターを装着出来るので格好も良くなり、装着時の寸法もわずかとはいえ薄くなりました。また最広角側にレンズをセットしても、ケラレは認められません。唯一の難点としては、前面に2箇所小傷(画像12時と5時付近)がありましたが、実用品なので使っていくうちに傷も付くでしょうし、値段相応ということで納得しています。

純正フードは「レンズ→フィルター→フード」の順になるが、この製品は両側にネジを切ってあるので、「レンズ→フード→フィルター」の順に装着することも可能。フィルターによりフードの取り付け位置が変化してしまうことがないので、機能的には純正品よりも優れていると思う。見た目のカッコよさもある。むしろなぜニコンが中途半端な純正品を出したのか理解に苦しむ。知らなかったわけでもなかろうに。ロゴは無い方が良い。ねじ式のためどの位置に来るのか分からない。うちに届いたのは正面から見て８時の位置に来た。
