Nice little bags
I use these to put my shoes in when traveling so my clothes stay clean. They work like a charm. They did have a smell upon arrival but they aired out in about a day. I have small feet (girls size 4) so my shoes fit ok. Anything bigger and I would need the larger size.

Helpful information from company on how to use this fine product
I bought these bags to use to replace plastic for storing produce in the refrigerator. The bags seem excellent for my purposes... sturdy and reasonable sizes. I gave them a 4 now based on quality of cloth and construction. After using them for several months, I was able to raise that evaluation to a 5. Vegetables stored in these bags stay fresh longer than in any container I've ever used...even cilantro and other delicate greens stay fresh for days longer than with other containers. The information on the website says "Great for all produce - fruits, vegetables, grains and flour. An excellent bag for storing produce in the refrigerator. When stored in a damp bag, greens stay crisp for days." But when the bags arrived, there were no detailed instructions and no information about use. After a bit of confusion because I first emailed the wrong company, I got the following helpful information from a Simple Ecology representative. I hope they can include similar information along with bags in the future. Here's what the rep said in that email:Here's how we use the muslin produce bags and why:We use the bags for shopping (dry) and when we get home we spray off the delicate greens (lettuce, basil, green beans, etc.), put them back into the bag wet, and place them in the refrigerator crisper drawers. The bag will become moist from the drops on the veggies, and this forms a humid tent around them, keeping them from wilting and drying out as fast. Sort of like the spray misters that keep veggies moist at some grocery stores. They stay crisp much longer in the moist bags. Veggies and fruit with thick skins like cucumbers, zucchini, apples don't have this issue so we just store them in the bag dry. Here's why:Modern refrigerators have a frost free feature that keeps the air inside very dry (I remember having to defrost the refrigerator :-( ). This quickly wilts delicate greens. Using plastic bags kept the moisture inside the bag so they didn't wilt as fast but also kept the gases inside that accelerates rotting, resulting in the slimy mess you find in a bag that was lost in the back of the drawer for weeks. The muslin bags keep things moist yet allow them to breath, the best of both worlds.

Tare Weight Frustration
I only recently purchased these bags and was so happy to find organic cotton since I hate using the plastic grocery bags. I hand washed them in cold water and hung to dry. The fact that they wrinkled didn't bother me in the least (I've read several comments about how they wrinkle..so what? You're not wearing them!); I first used them a few days ago at two separate grocery stores, and when I asked the cashiers about figuring the tare weight, they looked at me as though I had two heads. They checked with managers, and I was told that these stores were not set up to measure tare weight. So...while still loving the fact that I didn't have to use plastic bags, I wasn't pleased to have to then remove the produce from each bag and place it to be weighed (atop a plastic bag the cashier recommended as a solution since, in frustration, I just said to go ahead and weigh them just as they were)! So, the fact that Simple Ecology has now conveniently placed the tare tag on the outside (no-brainer there), is irrelevant to me when it comes to my local grocery stores.However...I look forward to my next trip to Whole Foods (only go about once every couple months due to distance) where factoring tare weight is just everyday business for their cashiers.Although I don't feel I'm quite qualified yet as to how fresh produce remains in these bags, it seems the produce is holding up well so far (has only been a couple days though). I'm somewhat confused by the conflicting comments about the issue of freshness since some report the produce holds up beautifully and others complain of "rotting" or spoiling quicker, etc. I will just have to wait to see for myself. I've just today read that there are many fruits and veggies that should not be refrigerated as it seems they don't "like" total darkness and do better on some sort of circadian rhythm. Have to do more research, but it makes sense. I've never refrigerated tomatoes or sweet potatoes, avocados, bananas, onions, garlic, etc., but now it seems we can keep even more fruits and veggies out!Given the odds, and despite the tare weight issue, I don't doubt I'll be changing my rating to 5 stars; and, regardless, I'm definitely ordering more.

Kind of tricky to use but, does eliminate plastic bag use for produce!
I actually did not use these at first for a year or so. But when I saw my local grocery store selling (woven plastic!) versions, I decided to finally use them.I discovered one problem, I shop using the digital price reader so I can zoom through self check out. (Why so many do not use these is a mystery!) But the digital scale for produce in the produce isle is hard to use period, let alone adjusting it for the bag tare weight. So I pulled the fruit/veg out of the bag, weighed it, and put it back. But that is hard to do and, sure enough, I dropped a peach on the floor. They never seem to clean the scales either. Also, where the heck to I put the price sticker in case my bags are inspected (happens randomly)? I just clumped them on one bag.My conclusion is they work fine but take some getting used to. These cloth bags are probably best for the farmers market but, even there, there is little room to handle the produce. I will keep using them in the supermarket too and see if I can find a way to make them work quickly and more reliably for weighing.

Durable and useful
These are very versatile. Although I keep them inside my cloth shopping bag and use them mostly for produce, I use them for other purposes as well. They are sewn well and the drawstring works well so far, even after multiple washings. I just add them to my regular wash cycle and hang to dry.I've also used them to store vegetables in the fridge. I'm thinking of getting another set or two: one set to give as a hostess gift and one set to use when giving gifts.

Best produce/storage bags!
These are really high quality produce/storage bags. I have purchased many different brands and these are the nicest ones so far. No plastic in the bags or in the packaging. Really great product!

Very durable!!!
So happy with these bags! I use them all the time. They wash well and didn’t shrink for me but I don’t put them in the dryer. They don’t take up any room and are very light weight. I will definitely get more of these!!
