HDMI EDID Feeader EDID Manager Emulator Support 4K CEC, 1.4V HDMI Cable (Up to 10M Distance)

Used this with a startech BOX4HDECP conference room converter box. The startech box lets you input HDMI/Displayport/VGA, and outputs HDMI to a TV or monitor. The version we have only does 1080p output though, and we finally got our first 4K TV... Without this adapter, the laptop attached to the startech box sees the EDID info from the TV, and tries to output a 4k image, which doesn't work with the startech box. Stuck this little dongle after the startech,set the rotary dial to D (or you could use E or F depending on your sound setup), and the laptop came right up. Saved having to buy the new 4K version of the startech.EDIT: If you're having trouble with it, you may have to force your laptop to use 60p. Many of our modern laptops are kicking out 29p or 30p at 1080p, which our TV can't handle.

It works well enough for spoofing the various resolutions and audio setups. But unfortunately, the 4k EDID profiles do not seem to report 60hz. So devices that only read refresh rates and do not let you override (e.g. PS5) seemingly won't see this device as a 4k60 for any of the profiles, and thus won't let you use the 4k profiles.

This product did exactly what it was intended for. We had a 4K projector with up conversion as well as a receiver that was trying to process the video signal. No matter what we tried we could not get the two to hand shake properly. This unit forces EDID to stay constant then allowing the three devices to stay connected. It is nice because the unit is powered by the HDMI cable and no additional power is required

I have an older TV that is only capable of 720p resolution. For whatever reason, my video player wouldn't recognize that this was the resolution the TV wanted. This box "tricks" the player into outputting the correct resolution. It works very well and no external wall wart required.

Edit: this device is not well shielded. Found out that any EMF from for example a fan causes this to momentarily reset. One star off. Still can be shielded easily but it should be addressed in the design.At price points of upwards of 4 to 5 times of this device, this minder does what I need it do which is give the STB the EDID resolution of the display. The minder does it with HDCP pass through.The small toggle is a little hard to read at times but in my case I set it and forget it. Longevity is unknown but with tech changing the way it does it’s probably not a concern.
