Shipping was super fast and the filter housing came packaged really well. After pulling out of the box I immediately noticed the weight and build quality of the housing. It’s built to last. One downfall about this is there is no filter and no fittings. The inlet and outlet are pretty big. Takes a 1” fitting which is crazy but that allows maximum flow which is nice so I’m ok with that. This is pretty big but isn’t hard to install. It’s just time consuming because oof course you have to shut down the water supply and empty out the lines. Once that’s out of the way you start pulling all your old fittings and if your lucky like I was then the previous owner installed a Union so you don’t have to cut your lines. Of course once they are pulled you have to start getting the new pipes installed. I already had everything laid out and ready to go so all I had to do was loosen the Union and then start connecting all the new pipes. It’s went pretty quickly. In all this is a good filter housing but I feel it’s a little over priced since there is no filter or fittings included like a lot of others. I’m still happy with the results though.

This is a 5 star product, no question about it! I only gave it 3 stars because, my package was missing the bracket, and i would have bought one, but 3m does not make it available for sale, so can not mount this beast! 3m if you are reading this pls contact me!I have installed hundreds of these type of filters, and this is by far the BEST of the bunch...there is another brand that is on par, also made in Italy, but its not clear. and I LOVE clear, as u never know what is going on inside these till u open them up, easier to look through at a glance!!!the housing and cannister made to survive in the harshest conditions. The threads are plastic, but they are robust, use tape and or dope. The included wrench is even robust compared to competitors.u think it does not matter how robust the housing is? My last home had standard Blue unit, and after about 7 years a micro crack while on vacation.... 250K worth of water damage, nightmare... dont skimp, buy the best, the risk is great with plumbing fixtures.highly recommended!!!

I've installed quite a few in home water filter systems over the past year, many of which are partially or entire consisting of 3M products.Out of all the individual 3M water filter products/whole systems, I've yet to have any problems with installation or operation; this housing is no different.As far as housing goes, I feel 3M makes the easiest to install housing. Their housing is so easy to install, a novice can handle the job by simply following directions, and having a few common tools on-hand.In terms of durability, all 3M housing tends to be overbuilt. So, this isn't a product you're going to be constantly replacing.To be frank, I think the only downside to 3M filter products is that they carry a bit of a premium compared to similar brands. However, their products do tend to last longer, based off my experiences with them/similar filter products.Bottom line:This is rock solid filter housing that's built to last, and easy to install.5 stars

Our water always had a chlorine smell to it prior to installing this system. Now I don't notice the smell at all. The flavor of the water still isn't as good as a reverse osmosis filtration system for our kitchen sink, but this is great for the whole house and I feel much safer with our water due to our poor water quality (our state ranked 47th worst water quality). I haven't noticed a difference in water pressure or flow rate either. It's recommended to replace the filters every 6 months or earlier if there is a reduction in flow rate. We plan to change every 4 months and buy extras right away to not worry down the road. I love how this is also a very cost-effective way to boost the value of your home too. The only thing is I didn't know the filter didn't come with it so I had to match the right model number to the filters to buy.

I have a filter the same size as this but it isn't clear. What genius makes those? It was installed while I was at work and you know would have incurred more cost for a plumber's return. This casing fits perfectly and I can actually see my filter. This casing is for filters that get changed every 6 months but mine typically don't last that long as I have a lot of sediment from my well. Sometimes I get 5 months, sometimes only 3. So it's imperative I see the filter. This is a heavy duty casing that should last years. It came with a wrench to open it also; a bonus as these do wear out and are hard to come by. I'm very satisfied but then I already had the set up and didn't need total installation.
