Great sounding entry-level record player
Right out of the box you notice this is a very nice-looking turntable. There is a little setup required, but the instructions are very clear. The anti-skid was the hardest part, but it was not overly challenging. A setup like this is great for someone who is getting their first quality record player. It talks you through balancing the tone arm and the like.Once set up, it sounded amazing! I have it running through a Douk Audio tube amp and a pair of Boston Acoustics A150s. There's a lot of clarity and detail, which probably says just as much about the included cartridge, Audio-Technica AT-VM95E Cartridge. Even at low volumes it sounds alive and gives the ap and speakers something to work with.

Oof. Where to start
First of all, don't believe online reviews on this one. I might have gotten a lemon but it is far from "in a league of its own" and "well worth the penny".The feel:Light. The platter is supper light and feels so cheap. it is noticeably not balanced making the whole setup wave up and down while rotating... The carbon fiber arms is nice and the cartridge is way above grade for this setup. The setup:Odd.. the tone arm would not balance because it's sticky. Push it up and it stays up. And vice versa. you can only get it "sorta close"... the recommended 2.0 tracking setting measured 1.7 on the scale. Anti-skate was super fiddly and doesn't actually work (might be because a warped platter?)Sound:Not good. It is flat. It is mushy. There is no "air", no "stage"... nothing "pops", nothing makes your toes tap...I am not sure what all reviewers were comparing this turntable to, but... I guess cheaper ones are even worse, which is not saying much. I couldn't enjoy anything coming out of this playerSound:Built in preamp is very weak and flat sounding. There is simply no comparison between the built in one and an external preamp on semi-decent speakers...

This might be the best choice for your first turntable
This turntable is a wonderful option for the cost. If you just bought the needle/cartridge that's included, it would cost you over $60. It's pretty easy to set up, with good instructions included, and the sound is fantastic. I've used it with some new and used vinyl from different genres (classic rock, hair metal, pop, and classical), and it's all sounded great so far.

DOA. The belt kept slipping and as such never got to play one record!
Just received this, finished setting up only to keep having the belt slip each and every time. Talk about frustration now I have to pack it back up and return it. I would avoid this product and spend the money for a high-quality product although at $250 this is not a cheap buy by any means or simply stick to streaming. This had some promise but alas I never was able to get one record spun.

High quality for Price
It came with a quality cartridge at vm95E(tracks at 2g) and a turntable stylus alignment protractor. You must use the tool in order to make sure the stylus is tracking as close to accurate as possible. I love that it has Bluetooth and the USB output along with a switchable phono/line output. The removable head shell along the ability to upgrade the stylus plus the price sold me on the turntable. The appearance was outstanding. It is fully manual which did not bother me but maybe for many. Also setting the tracking force and anti tracking can be difficult.TtHe

Sounds great, easy to set up
This record player arrived in perfect condition. The wood finish looks nice and set up was easy. I watched a few youtube videos beforehand so it was a breeze. My records sound great, five stars for sure!

Slow play
This is the 2nd turntable I bought, the 1st one (Retrolife) played slow and I returned it. This one (Monolith) costs $60 more, and, after opening, is almost identical in appearance, body, platform, etc., as the previous one, and guess what - it plays slow as well. It has to be made by the same manufacturer, but marketed under a different name. It was even packaged in an identical manner. I only have a few records so was hoping to get by for $100 - 200. Guess not.
