I bought this because it claimed to be glass, but it is just hard plastic. It was a rip off.

This project clearly states the material is glass but it’s plastic.It’s a rip off, its advertised as glass which is the only reason I bought it.Waited ages for it to arrive, could have bought a plastic one and arrive the next day.

Easy to use and disassembles easily for cleaning! Makes separating juices from fats so simple. Wish I had purchased years ago. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again!

I have previously used a fat separator that looks like my liquid measuring cup with an angled separator. It worked ok, but you can't really get all the good liquid out without some of the fat spilling over. This one is a game changer. Because the good liquid comes out the bottom, it is so much easier to leave out the day that has risen to the top. At first it was a little difficult to clean until I discovered that the whole "stopper" and lever come apart and voila, super simple cleaning! My daughter came over and saw me use it and was impressed with how easily i was able to remove the excess fat to make gravy with this also.I highly recommend, this is a great tool to add to your kitchen to strain out excess fat from your cooking juices!

The separator is nice and basic easy to work easy to clean. No fancy working parts to break down or requiring extra maintenance..nice and simple, for this a 2 thumbs upOn that free peeler it is useless it has three different heads which rotate around while you try to use it no matter what you do it will not lock into place hard enough to withstand use. We tried it on a potato a cucumber and a carrot ..epic fail, for this 2 thumbs down and in the trash it goes.

Update: I was wrong.. My first unit was not cracked as the replacement has the same identical marking line at the bottom. I am not sure why it was leaking if not cracked like I initially thought. Hopefully my new replacement will function betterFirst things first... I read a few reviews that theirs was leaking and mine was too but i figured out why. The first time using this, it worked great, but i noticed it was leaking very slowly at the bottom. At first i thought it was just a cheap design flaw and the rubber stopper just didn't have enough pressure, but i was wrong. When I got around to cleaning it and examining it, I noticed a hairline crack that started from the pour hole. It was so straight and light that at first i thought that it was part of the design but after further review, it was definitely a crack. I provided a picture for those of you having leaking issues so you can check yours to see. I retuned mine for a replacement.Now, about the actual product. Aside from the crack, it's actually a very nice fat separator . even with the defect, it worked great. It's huge at 4cups, works great for when I do pork shoulders or burnt ends on the smoker. It's designed really well for cleaning too. It comes apart in 3 separate pieces making cleaning very easy. I would not be afraid to order one of these. Normally, when i get a junk product, i would just send it back for a refund. With this one, I sent it back for a replacement because I do like it.

I wanted to try a different method for our Thanksgiving turkey gravy this year so purchased this for the process. Upon next day arrival it seemed to be well built but I was leery from reading reviews of similar products that leaked out the bottom. Didn't want to have a greasy turkey broth mess all over the counters, etc..Of course I needed to clean it coming out of the packaging so I tested the bottom with the soapy water first and it did not leak. The same was true during the gravy making process too, no leaks at all.Product is simple and super easy to use. Just pour the broth in and let it sit for some minutes. You'll see all the fat separate out at the top. It doesn't take as long as simply letting the fat rise from broth pour without this fat separator because of the aeration that happens from the pour into lid. You're also able to see from the side exactly where the fat line is and because it drains from the bottom you can tell precisely when to stop the draining, leaving all the fat inside the separator.The only flaw I found is this is a four cup capacity but the four cup line is right at the bottom of the separator lid so the four cups includes that fat you don't want. Because of this you won't get a full four cups of clean broth because the fat took up some of the four cup capacity. If there was a bit more room at the top you could get a good fat rise and a full four cups of broth out. It's easy to drain the fat and pour more broth in a second time but just wanted to point that out for others.Overall, this was a great purchase, arrived quickly and worked like a champ!! Glad I purchased it! :)
