While trying to enjoy a relaxing evening at Bronco's Club he meets Robin
The Carlisle Cops are back! In Fire and Fog we meet Dwayne, the newest cop in town. He has been riding and getting to know the city with Red, who we first met in book 1, Fire and Water. While trying to enjoy a relaxing evening at Bronco's Club he meets Robin. Robin is just trying to survive and doing whatever he thinks he has to to accomplish that. A chance meeting, or two, changes the lives of these two men in ways neither expected when the evening began. As amazing as all the cops in this series is, Dwayne is quite possibly the nicest one yet. To say he has a heart of gold would be a cliche of major proportions but its also entirely accurate. Robin too has a heart of gold but being a few years younger, the family betrayal that set him on his current course as well as being taken in by a rental scam is still fresh in his soul, leaves his trust level pretty low. Its no wonder he doesn't want to take Dwayne at his word when he says he just wants to help, I don't think I would be able to either. Is their love rushed? Perhaps. For some that might be a turn off but for me, its not. When written as well as Andrew Grey has done, its believable, interesting, heartwarming, and just plain entertaining. One thing I really loved about Fire and Fog, the whole series really but in Fog more so, just because Robin is the younger one and his pain is fresher that doesn't mean Dwayne is without hesitation and doubts as well. I love how the author shows us that just because someone is more set in their roles in life doesn't mean they have all the answers and are above being afraid, life is always changing, an ever-evolving journey and Carlisle Cops is a perfect example of that. Throw in a little mystery to make this a tale with a little bit of everything and you have another winner that will keep you hooked till the very last page.I suppose technically, this is a series of standalones since each installment centers on a different duo with their own story but I highly recommend reading Carlisle Cops in order as the featured couples from each one pop up throughout the series. Reading them in order just makes the stories flow better due to the interactions with supporting characters.

Great addition
This is a very good book. It's characters are well-written and interact with all the other characters from the previous series with ease I hope this is not the last in the series because I really like reading about the people of Carlisle

Marvelous series and romance ! A cop and a lifeguard !
I have loved this amazing series ! Things here start off with a rescue and some healing comfort. Our men got to know a bit about each other. Things were speeding up, and Dwayne's investigation taking shape, as they check into Robin's crappy stepdad. Abruptly their lives change, when after a tragedy, Robin is given custody of his nephew to raise. This fabulous story of heartwarming caretakers and men with honor is amazing. Our men are super sexy and first times are well done for Robin.Terrific story, has us teary and then happy, and the deep emotions keep us turning the pages. This beautiful series shows us issues and how to solve them, using different men, all various occupations working side by side. Each book can stand alone. There is a surprise villain at the end. Shocker !Great epilogue and fabulous romance.Highly recommended. ENJOY !===================

As Only Andrew Grey Can
I love this series about cops in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and in this one the cross-over of a group of gay friends in Harrisburg from Andrew Grey's "Bronco's Boys" series kicks off the story. Officer Dwayne from Carlisle, basically run out of his hometown of Topeka, Kansas (we find out why much later in the book) drops into Bronco's to alleviate his loneliness and somehow becomes involved with Robin, a homeless kid from Mechanicsburg whom the Bronco Boys point out might be hustling customers.Well, that's partially true, but when Dwayne accidently stumbles upon an incident outside the bar in which Robin is the victim, the story moves back to Carlisle and takes off like a squad car picking up speed. These are two lonely men, both of whom have families that basically threw them out for being gay, yet they are both strong and even though Robin might not realize it, somewhat lucky to have stumbled upon each other.Dwayne, who is in his mid or late 20s, is much more optimistic than Robin, a seemingly perpetually despondent 21-year-old. But as in all the books in this series, the strong relationships among the gay cops in Carlisle help move Robin into some kind of hope for his future, though he still fights any thought of ever being happy.Curious as a cop should be, Dwayne picks up on another unfortunate incident which involves Robin's previous residential "manager," and a strong criminal sub-plot begins to develop. This happens while Robin is slugged once again by life's cruel fate, this time involving his sister, her 4-year-old son Charlie, and his estranged mother and stepfather. No spoilers here but you can see what eventually turns out to be the confluence of all these mini plots somewhere after the halfway point, though Grey is clever in pulling strings here and there to try to keep you, and the characters, distracted. In the end, Dwayne and Robin fall desperately in love, but deeper still is Grey's continued theme from most of his books: Family is the most important element of life. Building a family from the ashes of despair and turning it into the phoenix of love is what he does better than most M/M romance authors, and this one strikes that chord resoundingly. I just hope the series continues.

Great tale
Wonderful coming together of Dwayne and Robin from an attempted pick up in Broncos to a happy ever after with Charlie whilst overcoming homophobic parents

APPEARANCES ARE DECEPTIVE
This is a romance which actually has a story line and keeps you interested. Too much Gay fiction is sub-standard erotica. Whish there were more but l shall be following Andrew for sure.
