We have a red head baby who is pale yet for 6 weeks in australia was protected by this hat. It did the job and covered the baby. The tie under chin and around head help keep it in place. As with everything baby will take a while to get used to it, I found having her in a forward facing holder and one of my fingers in each of her hands for her to hold stopped her trying to take off the hat. Well-designed little hat. Fits a broad range of head sizes with the adjustable straps. I bought 9-18 mo size for muy average head sized 5 mo old, only so it would last longer. It's a little big but wearable by adjusting the strings. I'm posting a picture of the tag with sizing in case it helps.

Yep, should do what it says it will, cover babies head and next nicely from the sun. But, the size we got for a 3 month old would, I am sure, easily fit a six month or older child so we haven't actually been able to try it properly.

Great hat that worked a treat keeping the rays off my toddler's head. Chin strap essential for me as he would normally be constantly pulling them off and this one works well. Also love that the hat can be tightened so bought it on the larger size so he could grow into it and I think it will still be fine for this summer coming. All in all a good purchase.

I love these sun hats. Quite tricky to get hold of in UK. Come up a little large size wise but not really a problem as they last longer (and the tie chin strap keeps everything in the right place).
